Nice Things to Say to Your Girlfriend

Dear Readers,

After writing quite a few witty romance related articles in the recent past, I have decided to adopt a different approach to this particular article. Rather than painting this article with my usual dose of dating and relationship humor, I will try to give this article a new twist - a musical twist. Of course, humor is something that I cannot suppress however hard I try. Therefore, although my focus will be on molding the article on the basis of melody, there could be chances of me sprinkling it with some light-hearted wit once in a while.

Well, now that the disclaimer is done with, let me now move on to the topic at hand.

Situation #1
You and your girlfriend have had a minor fight over a trivial issue, and naturally you're the one who had to take the blame. (Don't feel bad, it happens to all guys). So anyway, she's upset and she doesn't want to meet you. Realizing the need to win her heart and make her smile, you start thinking of sweet things that you could say to her on the phone. Well, it's Stevie Wonder to the rescue! Try crooning the following lines:

I just called to say, I love you

And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

However, if you can't sing to save your life, then it's better that you don't exercise your vocal cords if you are serious about dating her. In this case, you're better off playing her a soft, mushy number, i.e. something similar to the following Shania Twain love ballad.

Situation #2
After a wonderful candlelight dinner with your girlfriend, you drive her home, walk her to her doorstep, give her a quick peck on the cheek (anything more and her dad may show up with a shotgun in his hand), and walk back to your car. As you drive back home, the memories of the romantic evening spent together still linger around in your thoughts. Suddenly, you remember that you did not wish your girlfriend good night. Rather than texting a plain 'good night' message, you try to think of some cool lines to add an edge. Well, how about these?

Situation #3
Being the forgetful male that you are, you suddenly realize that it's your girlfriend's birthday tomorrow and that you haven't got her a birthday gift, or for that matter, even a birthday card. Cursing your memory, you start hunting around for some romantic lines to send her on her birthday (which you hope will make her spare your life). Well, apart from praying, there's really not much that you can do to save your skin. However, if you're honest and sincere enough, you may just about manage to salvage the situation by singing this lovely N'Sync song.

And if that doesn't work, try the eternal backup - 'Everything I do' by Bryan Adams. Rarely have I come across women who do NOT like this song, so why not take a chance and use it to your advantage? Anyway, the next time you find yourself thinking about things to say to the woman of your life, remember this piece of musical advice. It could very well work in your favor!
