News Team Assembles for Anchorman 2

Harrison Ford was announced as the latest addition to the cast of the much-anticipated Ron Burgundy sequel, Anchorman 2.
Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy is one of the most beloved and celebrated comedic characters of the last decade - and he's close to returning to the big screen for the sequel to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Part of what draws people to the Ron Burgundy character is that Ferrell appears so natural in the role, a combination of some of his best characters from his Saturday Night Live days with infusions from some of his other movie roles. At this point, it is believed that all the core characters from the original film will be returning, as well as new additions Kristen Wiig and Harrison Ford.

But the real story surrounding the film will be the anticipation leading up to its release, currently scheduled for late 2014 or 2015. With Ford now on board to play another legendary news anchor, it's likely that the cameo appearances from other A-list stars will only increase as filming gets underway in earnest. Fans of the original film will recall Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson playing violent members of a competing news team in Anchorman.

In addition to his just-announced role in the Anchorman sequel, Ford is also confirmed to be reprising his role as Han Solo in the seventh episode of the Star Wars saga. Although the film has been confirmed as an active project, little is known about the script or any story lines associated with the film. Now that decades have passed since the original films made history in the late 1970s and early 80s, it will be interesting to see how Disney and the writers incorporate older versions of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and other characters that made the saga one of the most popular film franchises in history.
