New Year Wishes 2012

How has the year been for you? Was it one you would want to remember? Take some time out today and pen down all that is worth remembering about the year passing by. Remember even those things you would not want to remember again, for those were things which taught you something you never knew. Cherish your achievements, big or small. For one last time, look in retrospect, at the setbacks you saw. 'Coz, from what you lost, you got more than what you gained from what you got! The falls taught you to rise. The failures taught you to fight. For that one last time, remember the falls and once and forever, etch on your minds, the lessons they taught you. You don't want their company in the new year, do you? Bid the last sun of 2011 a farewell and greet the new year with open arms (and minds)!

How has 2011 been for the world? The passing year was a mixed bag of events, some happy, some sad; of mixed times, some good, some bad. We lost legendary figures like Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Elizabeth Taylor and Steve Jobs. Natural calamities like floods, earthquakes and Tsunami claimed thousands of lives. All wasn't bad though. It never is. On the political front, the Egyptian revolution, the Libyan Uprising that culminated in Gaddafi's death and the Anti-Corruption Movement in India were the highlights of the passing year. The various uprisings across the year had one thing in common - in all of them, corrupt powers lost and people won. Oppressive leaders like Osama Bin Laden and Gaddafi were assassinated and the world was relieved from their terror.

It was not just the real world that changed. The virtual world changed too - the Internet. Google introduced new ranking factors to their search results algorithm calling it the Panda Update. This update changed the web world. For better or worse? Only experts can tell.

Whatever happened, happened. Good, bad, both or neither; whatever it was, it was.
Though letting go of what was is not easy, we have to let go of the past and be present to greet what is.
One whole year has passed. One whole year...

And, if you are done looking back, it's time to look forward to - to everything that 2012 might have in store for you. The passing of every year is a transition, a step towards something new, something different. Why regret even if the passing year gave you no reason to celebrate? You are here to witness this transition and take your small step towards a brighter future. Isn't that a reason enough to...? You know what.
