New Michael Jackson Single, This Is It, Hits Airwaves Today
Michael Jackson's new song, This Is It, was released today on the air and online and will be available to purchase as part of a two-disc album.
The estate of Michael Jackson is optimistic about today's release of Jackson's posthumous single, This Is It. "This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows -- that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts," said John McClain, a co-producer of the album and an executor of Jackson's estate.
Perhaps in a savvy business move, the estate has made the single for sale as part of a two-disc compilation album, which will include some never before heard material as well as some classic Jackson tunes. The second disc on the album will also feature a recording of Jackson's recitation of a poem entitled Planet Earth.
The release dates for the album will be October 26th and 27th, set to coincide with the release of the Jackson movie by the same name on October 28th. This final wave of Michael Jackson activity will likely see things calm considerably until the first anniversary of his death next June.
As the investigation into his death continues, Michael Jackson's private physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, remains the focus of the investigation. Given that Jackson's death was ruled a homicide by the L.A. coroner, it's telling that neither Murray nor anyone else has been charged with a crime related to his death.
