New Construction Lowers Houston Apartment Rents

As an Houston Apartment Locator I struggle to find the best apartment deal for my clients. Well lately there has been no shortage of Houston Apartment Deals. It has been a long time since I have seen specials this good where apartments are offering 2 months free and in some lucky instances up to 3.5 months free rent. For example last week I was showing apartments in the Galleria and 3 apartment complexes that normally rent 2 bedrooms at $1450 were offering specials driving the rent down to $1028 and $1099!

Modern apartments in the Galleria are renting that cheap WOW! This does not surprise me because in the Galleria alone there are 4 newly constructed apartments and 4 more to come (proposed for construction).

These newly constructed apartments are offering out of the world deals and as a result people living in Galleria are giving 30 day move out notices and flocking to these new properties. To add to this the federal agency that issues H1-B visas has frozen all the slots. So what I am seeing is international students and workers from overseas that were renting in the Galleria have given 30 day notices and vacated the country. This is another simple supply and demand concept that is driving vacancies high in some of these Galleria apartments!
