Never Coming Back, Love

Will he....?
The broken glass lay around her.
A reminder of her moment's folly.
They're nothing, only man made.
But is her heart?
Too fragile to be remade
and precious to not matter.
Now he has walked out that door.
Oh! That cursed door!
How much has it taken and seen?
The times when his arms
were wrapped around her
and they were laughing,
the fire warmly crackling.
glasses of wine lay forgotten
as their night grew sweet.
But now, the shattered glass, cold as ether; tiny.
The air itself tangible
with the force of his sudden departure.
Crude words spoken,
from his sweet, soft mouth.
tearing into her heart
and leaking through her peace.
Thrice gone, never forgotten.
Twice gone, always remembered.
Once gone, brokenhearted.
