Never Alone From Author of Welcome to England
FROM THE AUTHOR OF WELCOME TO ENGLAND. MY NEW STORY
The hair on my arm were standing on end. My whole body was trembling slightly. I could see when my slow shallow breath escaped my trembling lips. Standing in front of me was a young girl. Her hair was black and hung in front of her bright teal eyes. "Hello..." my voice came out shaky.
"You can see me?" her soft voice gave me shivers. It was barely audible, like a soft whisper of wind through trees. I nodded and swallowed hard. "Can you feel me?" she ask and placed her cool hand on my arm. Goosebumps immediately rose on contact as her ice-cold hand clutched my trembling arm. I nodded once again.
My name is Riella and I can see ghosts. Since I was little I've been scared of, haunted, befriended, and helped many spirits. I try to live a normal life. In school, a car accident victim may walk in through the door. Of course, no one else sees them, and they will see me staring at them. They know automatically I'm the only one able to see them. They will get right in my face, there wounds unwrapped and totally visible and scream in my face! HOW AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO REACT TO THAT!
"Do you know what has happened to you?" I ask the young girl.
"All I remember is a big boom and then ringing in my ears! I..I don't know.." she started to cry, putting her face in her hands revealing a burn wound all the way up and down her back.
"I...I think you were in some kind of explosion." I say putting an awkward hand on her shaking shoulder. Her ice-cold skin repulsed me, but I showed know obvious sign of it.
"Yes..Yes I was!" she says as it all comes back to her.
"How old are you?"
"I'm 10" she answers.
"And what's your name?"
"Pheobbe." she speaks out.
"Pretty name!" I say trying to make her feel better. "Everything is all right. You just have to let go. Let go of everything in you life and everything will be ok."
"Am i...d-d-dead?" she asks. Her bright blue eyes widen and film over with tears. I look down and slowly nod. "YES!" she shouted surprising me while dancing happily. "Now I can see my mommy and daddy! They died 3 years ago! Finally I get to see them." she closes her eyes and her cheeks grow a joyful pink, then slowly she starts to disappear into a bright light. "Thank you." she whispers and blows me a kiss. I grin at her and wink, telling her everything will be great.
'I wish every ghost were like Phoebbe,' I say to myself as I crawl back into bed to try to get some sleep before school. Some ghost got angry, some cried and wailed and moaned, grieving for losing their own lives, and some were just plain scary. I pull the comforter up to my nose, making me feel secure and I fall into a restless sleep.
