Neighbor Boy Part 6
A strange girl visits Kevin and Jessica is unsure about who she is or was to Kevin....
The next morning I woke up to the smell of bacon. But Kimi was still sleep next to me and her mom wouldn't be back till tomorrow. So I got up and carefully walked downstairs trying not to make a sound. I then walked toward the kitchen picking up an umbrella on the way. I walked into the kitchen and see Jeremy standing by the stove.
"Jeremy?" I said confused.
"Your up... good... I made breakfast." he said smiling at me.
"Wait a minute... I thought you went back to California." I said sitting at the table.
"I decided not to go. You think I would give up that easily." he said handing me a plate of food.
Jeremy has always been a great cook. When we would go out he would either fix me a snack before or after our date. When I was with him I went up two sizes... but he didn't mind... he liked the extra meat on my body.
"What do you mean you decided not to go?" I asked stuffing a fork full of pancakes in my mouth.
"I mean just that. I'm not leaving. I came here to be closer to you and if me being close to you means being friends I'm okay with that." he said sitting down next to me.
"But the other day you-."
"Forget what I said the other day. I was just tripping cause you were with another guy."
"You know I'm still with that other guy." I said putting the fork down and wiping my mouth.
"Yeah... I know... I'm okay with that. Just remember I'm here if he doesn't turn out to be who you thought he was. I was your first and I WILL be your last." he said lightly kissing me on the lips. "So until then we're friends." he said smiling and walking out the kitchen.
I finished my breakfast and went back upstairs.
"Kimi wakeup!" I said shaking her.
"What?" she asked wiping her eyes.
"Where was Jeremy last night?" I asked her.
"At David's... why?" she asked sitting up.
"He's downstairs... he made breakfast." I said sitting on the floor.
"He made breakfast! What did he make? Is it good? What am I saying of course it's good." she said jumping out the bed and running into the bathroom. I followed her.
"The other night did he tell you what happened?" I asked her.
"Of course... you know we're like this." she said crossing her fingers.
"So you know how he blew up on me about the friend thing." I said.
"Yeah... I told him he overreacted." she said spitting out the mouth wash.
"Yeah... so now he wants to be friends. But then he says he was my first and he WILL be my last... if things don't workout with Kevin." I said walking back into her bed room.
"So." she said shrugging. "Big deal. He said he would be your backup... and if that's what my stupid brother wants to do I have no problem with it." she said pulling off her pajama top.
I decided to go home and change around 11:00. As I was walking down the street past Kevin's house I saw his mom pull up into the driveway... which was weird because she was suppose to be at work. Then I saw her... a tall long chocolate brown hair girl wearing shorts, a tank top, and a pair of heels get out the car. She ran and hugged Kevin who was standing in the doorway. I didn't know if he saw me when he looked in my direction... but I walked quicker to avoid any type of confrontation. In the house I couldn't help but wonder who she was. In my room I stood in front of the mirror. Looking at my plain black hair. My less than prefect figure. And my lack length in my legs. I was nothing compared to her. Could it be that she was an ex- girlfriend of Kevin's. Who his mom liked more than me. I didn't know what to do. So I did what any girl would do... I called my best friend.
"Come on Kimi pick up... pick up!" I yelled
"Hello" she answered.
"Get over here NOW!" I yelled hanging up the phone. Within a few minutes Kimi was knocking on my door. I opened the door yanking her in.
"What's wrong?" she asked her voice high pitch from concern.
"Everything... look at me!" I screamed.
"What are you talking about... you look the same." she said.
"Thats the problem." I said.
"Calm down and start from the beginning." she said sitting me down on the sofa.
"Okay... I was walking home when I saw Mrs. Heart pull up, but she wasn't alone. Some tall skinny brown hair girl got out the car. She ran and hugged Kevin not like a relative 'I haven't seen you in ages hug'... but a 'oh I've missed you so much I wanna kiss you hug'." I said.
"Thats it... thats what you called me over here for." she started laughing.
"It's not funny... she could be his ex." I said.
"I'm sorry but w-w-we don't know t-t-that for sure." she said trying to speak between laughs.
"Then you go over there and see who she is." I said standing up.
"You're joking right?" she asked stopping her giggles.
"I'm as serious as a heart attack." I said.
"No... I'm not going over there. He's your boyfriend you go." she said.
"I can't go... not looking like this. If I went over now in this condition and she turned out to be his ex I would look like a step down from her." I whined.
"Okay... I'll do it this one time... but you owe me." she said.
"Thank you so much Kimi... you're a life saver." I said hugging her.
"Yeah whatever... be back in a minute." she said walking out the door.
It was almost twelve in the afternoon by the time Kimi got back and by the look of her face I couldn't tell what kind of news she was bringing me.
"So what happen... who is she?" I asked eagerly.
"Her name is Marrissa Garret and she claims to only be a childhood friend." she said.
"Claims what do you mean by claims?" I asked.
"When I got there she was all hugged up on him holding his arm. I asked her how she knew Kevin and she said... 'Me and Kevie go way back we grew up together like brother and sister.' But something in her eyes said there was more to the story than that. So when Kevin got up to go to the bathroom and her whole attitude changed... 'Who are you and how do you know MY Kevie?' she asked me stressing the my. I told her we just friends and I had a boyfriend... So then she says... 'Has Kevie been with any other girls?' I told her to ask him. So if I were you I would watch out for that psycho... but first we need to give you a new look." she said.
So me and Kimi go to the mall for a mini makeover. We got our hair done. Bought new clothes, shoes, and accessories. We then went back to my house where Kimi did my makeup and I put on my new clothes. I was ready to go over to Kevin's house and meet this Marrissa Garret. I stood in the mirror looking at myself. I looked hotter than I ever have. I had my hair cut into a short bob. I was wearing a t- shirt that said Rock On on it. Paired with a pair of skinny jeans and red converses. I looked great and I felt great. My look was simple yet oh so chic.
"You ready?" Kimi asked.
"Yeah... I think so." I said nervously.
"Don't worry you look gorgeous." she said hugging me. "Now go get'em." she said pushing me out the front door.
I walked over to Kevin's house with my heart jumping out my chest. I was so nervous. I stood at the front door a minute before I rang the doorbell. When Kevin answered the door I was staring at the ground. When I saw it was him I smiled.
"Hey you." I said smiling lifting my head so he could see my face.
"Jeremy?" I said confused.
