It had been a long day at work. Just kidding. It was boring. Spending a whole day with a guy you don't even know. Let alone finding out he's your new neighbor. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I wonder who it was? As I opened the door I smiled. Good old Caden. "Happy Birthday Sweetie" He said holding an envelope in one hand and a box in the other. Soon my mother and father would be here to. By then usually Caden was gone. But I think it's time he's met the parents. I heard a crash in the kitchen. I hope that wasn't Scout. Well his real name was Mija-Fletcher but we called him Scout because it was his wolf name. I ran to the kitchen with Caden closely behind. Sure enough in the kitchen stood a big wolf and my parents. " Caden these are my parents and my brother" I said shaking.

I turned around to see Caden white as a ghost. "You okay?" I asked. " yeah fine just let me adjust" He said. There was another knock on my door. " You three clean up that glass which mean person Scout not doggie" I said and walked to the door. I opened it to see Quinn. " I was anticipating on coming to get sugar or not but then I heard I crash so I thought I would come check" He said. " Oh umm everything is fine, it's nothing" I said. I felt strong arms wrap around me. "Baby we've got to go clean the mess in the kitchen" Said the voice. I knew it was Scout. " Oh Umm sorry I didn't know you were busy, I'll come back tomorrow maybe" He said. I thought for a moment. But just as I thought of something to say he was gone.

I shut the door and looked at Scout with a frown. " That's my intern dumb ass, So when you are not her tomorrow he'll have a story that I'm a slut smooth bucko" I shouted. Caden came over to me and hugged me. " Relax beautiful it's your birthday and your supposed to celebrate not think about tomorrow or the past, Think about the present" He said. " Speaking of present what did you get me?" I asked in a child like voice. "Shit on a stick" He said and stuck out his tongue. Oh he was in for it now. We started to run after each other till he ran in to my room and we both tripped on to the bed. I ended up on top of him somehow. My dad walked in and looked shocked. "Dad were not doing anything we fell" I said. "Yeah that's what me and your mother told her dad to" He said. I got up and gave Caden a hand up. "Childish much?" He asked. " Well I just wanted to know and I know you didn't seriously get me shit on a stick" I said. He went and came back with a card and a present. "Here" He said and handed it to me. I opened the card. It said 'It's your birthday, so don't feel down; Don't think bad stuff and frown; Your life should be filled with mirth; Just look what you've done since your birth.

You started out really small, Now you're really filled out and tall. In the beginning you would just cry, Now you can laugh if you try. You've done quite well since your start, So as you grow older take heart; Keep up the good work and don't be a jerk; Stay happy till you're an old fart.'. I laughed and then hugged him. " No hugs yet open the present" he said. Slowly I unwrapped the paper. I couldn't believe it. It was the Nikon D2Hs I hand been looking at for the last month. But I never had enough for it. My eyes little up brightly. " Like seriously?" I asked him in shock this was a thousand dollar camera. "Seriously, You deserve it...But I didn't pay for it on my own" He said. I looked at him confused. " You know your new intern?" He asked. " Yeah course I do" I said. "Well he paid like six hundred dollars of it" Caden said. My mouth dropped. He can't be serious. " You can't be serious" I said. " I am you can even go talk to him right now" He said. And with that I was off to his apartment.

I knocked on the door. He opened it. Quinn looked really tired. " Thank you so much" I said and with automatic reflex I hugged him. I quickly pulled away his body was cold. It wasn't human like. " Quinn can I talk to you about something?" I asked. "I guess come in" he said. So we went and sat in his living room. It was really quiet. His couch was very comfy looked like it would cost a fortune. "Quinn you just seem a little different, And you know I figure since were working together we should know as much about each other as possible" I said. He looked shocked then his mouth formed in to a hard line.

Then he looked at me. " Aurora, We're interns not best friends I highly doubt we need to know much" He said. "I will tell you ever thing but it's never to be spoken aloud" I said slowly. I knew my parents and my brother were listening but I don't give a damn what they want me to do. He shook his head. " I promise I won't" He said. " I'm descended from the Devil, My parents are Keller and Alexander Satin, They get warriors I was sent here at the age of eleven to see what living as a human was like turns out so far it's like crap but that how things are" Said slowly and understandably. "Wow okay I can match that up, I'm a vampire a blood sucker a fiend" He said. I looked at him and smiled. " Okay so were both something out of normal nature" I said. He smiled. "Now I can do this" He said and with that he leaned over and kissed me. I never knew one day would turn out to be what could have been a whole week. I kissed back.

There was a knock at the door. He pulled away and went to open the door. I heard a hiss and then a growl. I ran towards the door to see my brother and my intern about ready to kill each other. "MIJA QUINN NO" I shouted. They both looked at me. Scout looked down. Quinn looked at me with black eyes. " Did I forget to mention my brothers a wolf" I said with a slight smile. Scout walked over to me and sat beside me like an obedient dog watching their owner.
