Neck Pain Relief
Neck pain restricts your movements and can cause a lot of problems for you. It is an organ that is prone to muscle and bone injuries. Here are some tips for neck pain relief that will help you get rid of excruciating pain in your neck.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic ways of neck pain relief include, manipulation of spinal cord and adjustments of discs in the neck region. Often, neck pain results due to pinching of a spine or misalignment of discs. Hence, unpinching the nerves or correcting the alignment of the discs can give you a neck pain relief.
Massage
If the neck pain is due to sore muscles, then a nice, soothing massage can relieve the knots and tightness in the muscles and ultimately relieve you of neck pain. However, it is better to get the massage done from an authorized practitioner only.
Ice
Applying some ice on the painful area can numb the pain. Take a few ice cubes in a towel and press against the sore area. Else, take a bag of frozen vegetables or an ice pack and apply on the affected area.
Hot Water Bath
Having a bath in a hot bathtub or a jacuzzi, soothes the muscles and relieves the pain. Direct the hot water from the jets on the sore area, to get an instantaneous relief.
Neck Pain Relief Exercises
Flexion and Extension
Several neck exercises can help to reduce the pain in neck. Flexion and extension exercise involves moving the head back and forth. These exercises can be done in an upright position or in a seating position. Tilt the head forwards and then slowly backwards, repeat the exercise several times.
Rotation
Rotation exercises involve rotating the head right, left, back and forth. Just make sure you move your head very slowly and tilt it only up, to the degree you are comfortable.
Lateral Flexion
Lateral flexion exercise involves, tilting the head sideways from ear level to shoulder level. Repeat the exercise 6-7 times.
