NBC and TLC Team to Air Yet Another Exclusive Kate Gosselin Interview
Industry insiders are questioning NBC's decision to align itself with such an unpopular and over-played figure as Kate Gosselin. The network will air an exclusive interview with her tonight on TLC.
TLC and NBC are clearly going to do everything in their power to try to milk the Gosselin fiasco for all it's worth. And by that I mean, literally, all it's worth. After countless interviews on the mainstream talk show circuit, NBC has allowed TLC to air yet "another" exclusive, tell-all interview with Kate Gosselin. Honestly, what could possibly be left for her to say that hasn't already been trumpeted from every tabloid and gossip show for the last 8 months?
Yes, Kate was hurt when rumors of Jon's cheating began to surface. Yes, it's all about the kids. No, she doesn't think the show exploits the kids. Yes, she would consider getting married again. Blah, blah, blah.
At this point, you have to question the sanity and the motivation of all parties involved. Clearly, everyone is looking for a pay-day, but the fact that Kate Gosselin is continually reaching for opportunities to cry on television is getting ridiculous. If it's really "all about the kids", then shut down the circus and go home to try to give them a normal life. At this point, it's probably not going to be possible, but the current path of public destruction and humiliation is far, far worse.
This thing has gotten so far out of hand that, if NBC and TLC had any foresight whatsoever, they would come out publicly to explain "why" they "refuse" to air any more interviews or run stories about the Gosselins. Clearly, no one is acting as an advocate for the kids. The networks would go a long way in establishing some actual credibility if they were the ones to say "No More." Let the other networks grovel over who gets to air the sad and disgusting details of the rise and fall of the Gosselin family. Please, no more.
