Natural Vision Correction

Natural vision correction includes natural vision corrective exercises and if they are effective or not can be decided by yourself after reading this article.
Before we delve into natural vision correction exercises, let us have a brief look at the history to know from where did the idea of natural vision improvement originate. This method of eyesight improvement originated from Bates method which is an alternative therapy in improving eyesight. Bates method, because it was founded by Dr William Horatio Bates who believed that all the eyesight issues are due to habitual straining of eyes and also that glasses are harmful for the eyes and in fact; are not necessary to regain natural vision.

He claimed that he could improve the eyesight by relaxing the strain that causes it. Although there have been anecdotal evidence stating the success of Bates techniques, there are no concrete results on the success of this method. And therefore, many critics of the Bates method highly doubt its efficacy in treating the condition. While medical professionals and visual scientists characterize visual clarity and eyesight issues such as farsightedness, nearsightedness, etc., to be a result of the basic anatomy and shape of the eye, Bates believed that such conditions are a result of tension in the muscles around the eyeball and because of the tension of the muscles, it prevents the eyeball from changing the shape; when the look shifts from closer to farther. More serious eye problems, such as astigmatism, glaucoma and cataracts was believed by Bates to be due to disturbances in blood circulation.

Exercises to Correct Vision Naturally

Natural vision correction exercises are even being practiced in the modern generation and many have seen a considerable improvement in their vision problems and other eye conditions. Natural eye exercises improves the blood circulation around the eyes, relieves the muscle tension and stress on the eyes by relaxing it and not just that it improves the temporary vision problem but it is also found that there would be less chances of eye problems in future or in old age to be more specific. Moving on; let us have a look at some of the relaxing exercises now. These are some simple exercises to improve vision that one can practice at both work and home.

Palming
Palming is one of the most relaxing eye exercises that could relieve all the strain and stress experienced by the eyes due to a continuous use of sight especially when we work on the computer for endless hours. To perform palming, place the palms on closed eyes and hold the position for some time. Please note that there should not be any applied pressure on the eyeballs. Doing this exercise is relaxing to the eyes as well as the mind.

Swinging/Eye Movement
In this eyesight improvement exercise, the eyes need to move back and forth as if the objects in the opposite direction are swinging. Try this eye movement in a smaller area between the eyes and the object. The smaller the area, the better it is for sight correction. This is a fairly difficult exercise so, please practice it with care and don't worry if it doesn't seem to work initially, you'll master it with practice.

Clockwise-Anticlockwise
Visualize a clock in front of you and move your eyes 20 times from 12 to 6 and then 20 times from 3 to 6. Once that's done, circulate the eye around the clock in first clockwise and then anticlockwise direction. After 20 times of doing this for each direction, close the eyes and rest.

Shift Focus
Shift focus is a natural vision correction exercise that also relaxes the eye. To perform this eye exercise, you need to hold your thumb at a reasonable distance from your face so that you can see it clearly and then focus on the thumb for about 30 seconds. Shift your focus to an object at a greater distance, say at about two and half to three feet distance. Get back to your thumb and focus on it again for a few seconds. Practice this exercise 20 times and then close the eyes and rest.

These are some of the effective vision correction exercises that could not only improve the eyesight and other vision problems but it can also be performed by those who have no eye complains as such. These are some of the relaxation techniques that contribute to the overall relaxation of the mind and body. So vision problem or not, it's useful anyway.
