Mayonnaise
Mayonnaise is a treatment that can get rid of the lice easily and safely. Apply mayonnaise to the hair and scalp area and cover the head with a shower cap to avoid dripping it all over the floor. Leave this for few hours. When the head lice get covered up with mayonnaise, the breathing holes present at the sides of their body get blocked and they are killed. After this wash your hair with vinegar or mild shampoo. You can repeat this process 2 - 3 times in a month, this can help in getting rid of the head lice completely.

Olive Oil
Olive oil is said to be better than mayonnaise, as it is easy to wash off from the hair. When olive oil is poured on the hair the tiny holes through which the lice breathe get blocked and as a result they are smothered to death. For this method apply a generous amount of olive oil all over the head and make sure the oil also reaches the scalp. After this, put a shower cap over it and wrap it up tightly with a towel. This will ensure that olive oil remains on the scalp. Keep this for a night and in the morning comb the hair thoroughly so that maximum dead nits are removed from the head. After this, wash off the hair thoroughly with a mild shampoo or vinegar so that all the olive oil is washed off from the hair.

White Vinegar
Another natural treatment for lice is white vinegar. You can take a cup of water and add about two teaspoonful of white vinegar into it. Apply the mixture over the roots of the hair with the help of a cotton ball. Wrap the head with a shower cap and a cotton cloth over it. Leave this mixture on the hair overnight for best results. Next morning wash the hair with a mild shampoo. You can repeat this treatment after a few days to get rid of the lice completely.

Garlic Paste and Lemon Juice
The anti-bacterial properties of garlic and acidic properties of lemon can get rid of the lice quickly. For this method, take equal quantity of lemon juice and garlic paste and mix it well. Apply this mixture to the scalp. Leave this on for at least 15 - 30 minutes and then wash the hair. You can repeat this procedure for 3 - 4 times in a month for the lice to disappear completely.

Oil Treatment
A mixture of some aroma oils can work wonders for removing lice. Mix 4 drops of rosemary, 4 drops of geranium, 8 drops of eucalyptus, and 8 drops of tea tree oil in 30 ml of vegetable oil. Apply this mixture over your scalp and hair, and leave it on for 15 - 20 minutes. After this, wash your hair with a mild shampoo. You can repeat this after a few days.
