Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain, which causes worry and tension. In everyday life, it usually occurs when we fail to meet any demand. The awareness of our inability to meet the demand creates stress in us. As we grow up, we are more exposed to the effects of emotional and physical stress. Stress has both positive and negative effects on us. In some cases, for example, in our career, a certain amount of stress may provide the outlet to express our talent and helps us in coming out with flying colors. However, excessive stress is always harmful, as it may lead to anxiety, fear and chemical imbalance in our brain.

Vent out your negative feelings: By sharing and discussing one’s grief, fear and causes of anxiety with friends or near and dear ones, one may diminish the amount of stress.

Herbal medicines: Some Ayurvedic herbs, like brahmi and ashwagandha also help in reducing the amount of stress. Besides, chew some leaves of basil, also known as tulsi, in the morning and afternoon. These leaves of basil can work as anti-stress agents.

Meditation: Meditation is another stress management cure, which has a healing effect on our body as well as mind. It can provide mental peace by effectively wiping out our negative emotions that cause stress.

Deep breathing: Take long deep breathes to find an instant relief from our feelings of anger, fear, anxiety and worry. Inhale fresh air while taking breath and vent out or exhale anxiety and other negative emotions.

Avoid excess addiction: Vitamin B is necessary for reducing stress. Excessive dependence on alcoholic drinks or excessive smoking may lead one to suffer from stress, as they are lacking in vitamin B, and may also lead to certain unhealthy conditions.

Take bath in lukewarm water: To take a lukewarm water bath is an effective water treatment to cure stress and anxiety. After taking a lukewarm water bath, one may feel relaxed.

Mixture of rose petals with hot water: Add some petals of rose, sugar into hot water and boil it. Drinking it hot will be helpful in coping with depression, if that is the cause of your stress.

Think positive: Positive thinking is another factor, which can cure stress. One should have positive attitude towards every aspect of life. One should take all obstacles as a part of life. This positive attitude may help one to cure stress.

Relaxation techniques: There are some relaxation techniques, which may help in reducing the stress. These are:

  • Consume breakfast regularly - don't skip breakfast

  • Avoid excessive consumption of fast foods
  • Eat nutritious foods at regular intervals
  • Drink ample amount of water
  • Do regular exercise. Take a morning walk on a daily basis
  • Plan your day according to your strength
