Namibia (formerly South West Africa) is a large country on the southwestern coast of Africa, bordered by Botswana, Zimbabwe, Angola, Zambia, and South Africa. Namibia gained independence on March 21, 1990, following a century of foreign reign. Windhoek is the capital of Namibia. The country is arid and the Namib Desert extends the entire coastline.
