Mythical Creatures
Mythical creatures is a very fascinating topic. In various folklores, a myriad of such creatures are thought of. These are different from the creatures that exist on the earth in form and qualities.
Mythical creatures are also called as legendary or folkloric creatures. These creatures may be Chimeras or Cryptids. Chimeras means that they are a blend of two or more animals. eg. Centaur is a blend of a man and a horse. Cryptids are mythical creatures like Bigfoot, Mothman, Chupacabras that are supposed to exist. Mythical creatures often feature in fantasy fiction. Many aspects of popular culture in fantasy role playing games include such creatures. These have been a part of architectural decoration and heraldry. It is thought that these have supernatural powers or knowledge. They are supposed to protect something of immense importance.

Aziza
These are a beneficent fairy race from Africa. They live in the forest and provide good magic for hunters. They give spiritual and practical knowledge to people.
Baba Yaga
In Slavic folklore, the term means a wild old woman or a witch. She is a mistress of magic and a forest spirit.
Cyclops
This is also called as Kyklops. It is a primordial race of giants. They have a single round eye in the midst of the forehead. The term means 'wheel-eyed' or 'round'.
Dahu
This is known in France and Switzerland. It is a mountain goat like animal with legs of different sizes.
Encantado
In Brazilian Portuguese, this word means an "enchanted one". These creatures come from a paradiasical underwater realm known as the Encante.
Fachen
In Scottish and Scots-Irish folklore, this creature has only half a body. It has a mane of black feathers tufted at the top. A very wide mouth is so horrible that it may lead to heart attack.
Gwyllion
This is also called as Gwyllon. This is a Welsh word having different meanings like ghosts, spirits, human or supernatural night-wanderers up to no good or outlaws of the wild.
Haetae
This exists in Korean mythology. It is similar to a lion, but is a fire-eating dog. It has the body of a lion and sometimes a unicorn-like horn. It is claimed that it guards against disaster.
Ipotane
These are a race of half-horse and half-humans. Although, it looks overall human, the legs, tail, ears and hindquarters are like a horse.
Jackalope
This is also called as an antelabbit, stagbunny, aunt benny or Wyoming thistled hare. It is thought to be a rabbit with antlers. It is said to be a hybrid between a jackrabbit and an antelope, goat or deer.
King kong
This is a fictional giant ape from the legendary Island of Skull Mountain. This character was made by US filmmaker Merian C. Cooper.
Lake monster
This is also called as Loch monster. They are large unknown animals that have freshwaters as their habitat. They are similar to sea monsters.
Myling
These are a part of Scandinavian folklore. They are phantasmal incarnations of the souls of unbaptized or murdered children. They chase lone wanderers at night and jump on their backs.
Naga
This is a Sanskrit or Pali word found in Hinduism and Buddhism. This is a deity in the form of a very large snake. The female naga is called as a nagi.
Ovinnik
This is a malevolent spirit of the threshing house in Slavic folklore. He has a tendency to burn down threshing houses by setting the grain ablaze. On New Year's Eve, his warm touch indicates good luck and fortune, while a cold touch means unhappiness.
Panther
This is a big cat with a multicolored hide. As per the ancient Greeks, it is a favored mount of the god Dionysus. Pantera, pantere and love cervere are the substitute names for this creature.
Questing beast
This is also called as the Beast Glatisant or Barking Beast. It is a monster from Arthurian legend. It has the head and neck of a serpent, the body of a leopard, the haunches of a lion and the feet of a hart.
