MYSTIC OF LIGHT PHASE 2
"Your room will be available for you shortly, sir. Why don’t you and your daughter dine in our fabulous Bonaparte?" The receptionist informed the man and the young girl who looked about 7-years-old.
The little girl cracked a gaze up at the lady. "DAUGHTER! I’m no-" A huge hand came over her from the man as if to silence her.
"Um, thank you! Settle down, now." The man nudged the child over to the hotel’s café.
What an odd pair… The receptionist observed, as she made her way to the front desk.
"You have some nerve putting that nasty hand on me! And how dare you tell me to be quiet! Have you forgotten that I am your ruler?" The young girl snapped, rather conceited. She walked over to the nearest table and, after a while, looked at the 6"2 man. "Do I really have to tell you to pull out my chair, Bernard?"
The man stared down at the arrogant little lass. "First off, Princess. I’m not one of your servants; I’m your body guard. Second, Tauzonville is gone. As of now, you are no longer the 16-year-old princess of that land." The scowl on the young girl’s face disappeared and a frozen state came over her. Bernard walked over and pulled out her chair. "Nonetheless," He continued, looking down at the princess, again. "You will always be a princess in my eyes."
After their exquisite dinner, the receptionist approached Bernard. "Your room is now ready for you, sir. We have already brought your bags up."
"Hm? Thank you," Bernard replied, taking the room’s key card from the woman. He looked across the table to the young princess. Her head was flopping, slowly. "Are you sleeping, Princess?" A minute of silence passed and Bernard decided to carry the princess to their room.
"Mm, huh?" The princess awoke to the large heater by the bed. Where am I? She wondered, looking around the room. The room was fairly big. It was sort of like two separate rooms split in two, only there was no door in between, just wall with a gap large enough for two people to go through, at the same time. "So, this isn’t a dream." She spotted Bernard on a bed on the other side. I won’t wake him, yet. She went over to the window and looked out. "WOW!" She exclaimed. We’re higher up than the castle’s highest floor! I’ve got to see the sites, now! With much excitement, the princess ran to the bathroom.
In less than half an hour, the princess was walking along the streets of this unfamiliar metropolis area. This is three times bigger than Tauzonville! She awed, gazing up at all the buildings. The princess was so impressed with the city that she hadn’t even realized she walked right into someone from behind.
"Hm? Oh, it’s just a kid. So like I was say’n baby, why don’t you ’n me do something later to-"
"HEY! I’M NOT A KID!!" The princess yelled so loud, it was enough to freeze the city. Everyone stopped just long enough to give the young girl a confused look, before continuing on their merry way. Only the guy that she bumped into outwardly challenged her.
"Uh, on the contrary, you’re like yay height. Unless you’re a midget, you’re a kid in my eyes. What’s your name?"
The princess looked away. "Lia," She answered, not noticing the guy had turned his attention to the girl, he was hitting on, earlier. How dare he ignore me!! Wait, that’s right. I’m in a child’s body. I completely forgot about that.
"So how ‘bout it? You, me, tonight’s Nylon Festival?"
"Mmm… sorry, I don’t chill with the unemployed," The girl rounded the other way and left.
"Wha… hey! How can she tell I’m unemployed?" The guy pondered, looking to the ground. That’s when he noticed the little girl’s icy stare. "What, squirt?"
"You just got burned!" The princess laughed, but then it dawned on her what he called her. "I’d prefer it if you called me by my name."
The guy started to walk off. "Don’t care. Doesn’t matter."
"And why’s that?!" The young princess called after him. He glanced back and smiled and that’s when she truly noticed him.
"’Cause this is the last time we meet, Lia. Chao!"
