Mya Excited About Praise from DWOT Judge Len Goodman
Mya was excited to receive praise from hard-nosed judge Len on Dancing With The Stars, but admitted that she was a bit confused by his assessments as well.
Mya, whose real name (for those who don’t know) is Mya Marie Harrison, has noted recently that she’s excited about the praise she recently received from Dancing With The Stars judge Len Goodman, but that her stint on the show – and specifically the Argentine tango - has left her black and blue. Said Mya, "I have bruises all over my legs. I had to wear fishnets because they were so bad makeup couldn’t cover them up!" Of course, the pain of some bruises on her legs was probably not quite what her partner, Dmitry Chaplin, was feeling – Mya admitted that she hit him in the groin several times (by accident) during their rehearsals.
Asked about how it felt to receive praise from Len, Mya noted, "It was such an accomplishment! I cannot complain about that. We’ve been working really, really hard to please him. It’s been a little confusing because the first time, he said he wanted simplicity; they second time, he said he wanted simplicity; and the third time, he said he expected more. We were a little thrown off each time. The Argentine tango was more of a traditional dance, whereas the lambada was a little looser, so we thought we’d do really well with the intricacy of the choreography and the difficulty and the footwork."
Mya opened up about hurting her partner too. When asked what happened in rehearsals, she laughed. Asked if she kicked him "where it hurts," Mya noted, "Not intentionally! I wouldn’t do that! The choreography was so weird and you had to use a lot of footwork and your knees obviously elevate, and when you elevate while you’re turning, you can definitely hurt someone!" All I can say to that is…ouch!
