"My Son"

Poem for my Son
~~~~~
" ERIC "
~~~~~
He sits in my home,
alone in my chair.
Same face and smile,
same face with flair.
~~~
A child I still see him,
a boy comes to me.
In fear of tomorrow,
searching with and in me.
~~~
I feel no stranger,
yet a stranger is here.
Still I see my Son,
Yes,...he is here.
~~~
I don't, I can't say,
what I feel.
But familiar expressions
come to reveal.
~~~
This is my Son,
my first born you see.
He's just been away,
and I've been astray.
~~~
Tonight we meld,
tonight we talk.
Tonight we see,
no one's at fault.
~~~
We hug, we kiss.
Mother & Son,
Oh, how we miss.
Our laughter, our puns.
~~~
The times together,
times we've provoked.
The anger, the hate.
The love held at stake.
~~~
But tonight we forget.
Tonight we dream.
Of times in past,
times we've seen.
~~~
The love's here & now,
the feelings we feel.
Of long times past.
Forget them......we'll bow!!!
~~~
