My Sinking Heart
A heart drowning in its own self-pity of heart break.
The setting sun
Sinks silently into the majestic sea
Showering a golden hue
Into the creeping darkness
But the hue does not reach my heart
And uncover any hidden secrets.
MY heart silently sinks
Without any light
Into a quicksand
Of emptiness
Where there was once an abundance of love
There is only emptiness.
A majestic emptiness
That no longer registers any emotion
Not even fear
For it is embedded in a listless abandonment of life
That can see a savior on the horizon
And does not care.
Sinks silently into the majestic sea
Showering a golden hue
Into the creeping darkness
But the hue does not reach my heart
And uncover any hidden secrets.
MY heart silently sinks
Without any light
Into a quicksand
Of emptiness
Where there was once an abundance of love
There is only emptiness.
A majestic emptiness
That no longer registers any emotion
Not even fear
For it is embedded in a listless abandonment of life
That can see a savior on the horizon
And does not care.
