Chapter 5: My Real Life

I was confused, I looked around me still confused about what just happened. the only thing I heard was my breath. I rubbed my eye and placed my hand back on the floor as I took one more look at him. Was that why my parents were shocked? Is he really my dad? No it can't be! I don't remember being raised by... him!

I shook my head "No".

"Help her up" Jack said and Josh came over he pulled out a hand. I took it and stood up.

"Tell me. everything" I walked to the living room and sat on the couch waiting for them to follow me.

A while later they were all seated and Jack begin "When I was 19 years old, I met a woman called Marie... she was one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. She played hard to get at first but finally agreed to go out with me. We fell in love and got married than she gave birth to Carlos... problems started arising. And I fell within the depth of debts, I went to jail and served for 3 years when I came back Marie has already given birth to our second baby. Ashley. On the same day, some men came and shot Marie and Carlos while I hid you in the drawer and ran away. When they left the house I came back, I took you and left you on the front door of a rich family with a letter 'Ashley Black is her name. I'm Jack Black, take her raise her! She's all yours... please I'll come back and see her later' But I never came back to see you... and I was arrested again for drug usage. The men who killed your mom and brother found out that I had a daughter and they want to kill you. I'm here to protect you Ashley... the boys are your personal guards... I bet you already know their names now"

What the hell is he talking about? My parents hid this from me?! they didn't even bother telling me that I'm not their real fucking daughter?! MY SO-CALLED DAD NEVER CAME TO VISIT ME?! People are after me now, they want to kill me for being his fucking daughter?! What the hell!?

A smile spread on my face "This is a joke right?" please tell me it is!

He shook his head, I couldn't hold it in. it's enough! I laughed, I just laughed and then tears started coming out uncontrollably.

"So..." Sniff "You're my father and you never even bothered asking about me first... somebody wants to fucking kill me and" sniff "WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THIS?! YOU COULD HAVE SORTED THIS OUT IN A NICE WAY BY GOING TO 'MY FAMILY'" I air quoted with my fingers "AND TOLD THEM THAT YOU WANT TO PROTECT ME INSTEAD OF FUCKING KIDNAPPING ME CAUSING MY WHOLE FAMILY TO PANIC CAUSING ME TO NEARLY BREAK DOWN!! ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!"

I sobbed loudly and placed my hands on my face, I hate crying. I hate tears. I hate my life. I hate him!

"Take her back home, let her get the stuff she needs and get her back here" Jack said as he stood up.

"You get to see your family for the last time, tell them you're going to be alright" he said and left the room.

"Skye, get her something to wear for now" Zack said and she hurried, she took something out of the bag and handed it to me. it was a blue bohemian dress till my ankles.

I wore it and wore my converse then they took me, I didn't even bother arguing or saying a word. My whole family knew and they didn't tell me. Wow. I'm not going to even bother look at them.
We drove back, it took us about 4 hours. Where the hell was I before?!

I looked at my house, wanting to cry again. How could they?

"Ashley... do you want us to come?" Joe asked.

I shook my head, wiped my tears away and opened the car door. I made my way to the front door and knocked.

"COMING!" I heard Samantha's voice as the door slid open slowly.
Her eyes widened and she squealed "MOMMY!! COME HERE!!!!"

She jumped on top of me and hugged me, I didn't respond back. Why would I? why would she even miss me?! I'm not their real daughter anyway...

Mom gasped when she saw me and said "ASHLEY!!" She hugged me too, I pushed her away and went upstairs.

Travis looked at me, tears started forming in my eyes again "Don't. Come. Near. Me" I rushed to the bedroom and got 2 pair of shorts, 3 jeans, 5 t-shirts, 4 dresses, 1 converse and 2 sandals.

I grabbed my make up kit and some tampons in case I needed some, I took my medicine and placed them all in a bag. I looked behind me and Mom, Samantha, Travis, Norman and Dad were looking at me.

"What are you doing?" my dad asked "Let go of the bag"

"What happened honey? Tell us!" Mom said crying.

"What happened Mom? You're asking me what happened? why would I even answer that LIARS! How could you?! How could you hide it from me?!"

"What are you talking about?" Travis looked at mom and dad.
Moms face turned pale and dad sat down "Ashley is not your real sister"

Samantha gasped, Travis didn't respond, Norman looked at both of them and sat on the floor.

"Yeah, I'm not... My real father is a fucking drug dealer! My real mom died, my real brother is gone and you, the people I trusted the most lied to me! Somebody is trying to kill me".

I stormed out the room with the bag in my hand, I rushed downstairs.

"WAIT! Where are you going?!" Dad yelled.

"Somebody is trying to kill me... I don't want to get you involved in this... so bye" I rushed outside; Joe helped me with the bag. I simply got inside the car and they drove away. I'm never going to see my family again. Not now. Not later. Not ever.
