My Partner in Crime
A poem for my husband, for Valentine's day 2012. I try to write one for him on every Valentine's day and our anniversary. This is the one for this Valentine's day.
I stutter when I talk, but I am still understood,
I feel your arms on me even though you're not touching me,
These feelings I have for you have always withstood.
You're in my head and in my heart,
On my mind and in my soul,
I can see you, hear you, and feel you,
Because of you I am always whole.
I know you will always be there to catch me when I do fall,
To pick me up, dust me off and kiss me each time,
You are there no matter what, no matter when,
But always you are my partner in crime.
My best friend, my lover and my hero,
Come what may, you are my rock of Gibraltar,
My comforting touch, without me knowing you're there,
We will always be and will never falter.
