My Mom’s Success at Selling Commercial Properties

My mom decided to return to work after my dad died so we could have the income we needed to get by. My mom used to be a salesperson when she was in college so she decided that her best opportunity would be with sales. After many initial false starts, she got a job with a major seller of commercial properties.

On her first attempt to sell a commercial property, she failed but managed to convince the client that a commercial lease might be the answer the company was looking for. She showed the client that there was a commercial property for lease that should take care of their needs. The client agreed and my mom had made her first sale. Although the customer had only signed a lease, the company was happy since the property had been on their hands for a long time.

With the decline in the recession, my mom found that she could sell a lease much easier than an outright sale of a piece of property. Everyone was skittish about investing in property since the future was uncertain. A lease on the other hand was a much safer transaction. My mom’s success led to the company converting a number of other commercial properties from sales to leases.

Today, she works with commercial buildings for sale. If she cannot sell the building, she works out a lease option that has made both her clients and the company very happy. My mom has had the opportunity to work with other women who are returning to the work force. One particular student has had a great deal of success with apartment buildings for sale. My mom is glad she is working for a company that values her as a person and wants to provide quality properties for its clients.
