My Lady of Shalott

I hope this moves you all.
She stands there veiled in mist
And whispers to me "Come"
I'll show you wonders and treasures
I'll take you where I'm from.

But I in all my pride
What not but just her hand
I've heard it far and wide
The Lady of Shalott is from far Land

And to be taken away
by this lady in the Boat
Would steal me from my father's house
Never to show her and gloat.

She stand amidst her boat
as arrows fall near her side
She whispers "Quickly
We haven't the time for the tide"

She's standing there
All tall and fair
With darkened eyes made sad by time
And wheat golden hair

I want to follow
Oh I do
But as I heard
She was a mistress too

To none other than Sir Lancelot
That foul fallen lad
Who did so try to steal
The heart of Guenevere he almost had

And not to be like sad Tristan
I had most severely sworn
Between my affliction and love
So deeply was I torn.

And yet I see her start to slide into the water
And yet I choose to stay
The lady who was said to be
shall never by my

My Lady of Shalott

So take from this and learn
To love not just who you see,
But the one your true heart feels
Is the one who's meant to be.
