My Hero - Chapter 9

Oh, I think you'd be a little frustrated. Kendall and Cynthia are the same, because Xander, before, always thought that her name was Kendall, so they kept calling her Kendall, when in fact, it's Cynthia.
Chapter 9 - Banana Spilt

I went to the store where I usually buy stuff. There were cops. I asked one of them. "Good morning officer, but what happened to this store?" I asked them. I think he's not paying attention. I tapped his shoulder. Then he looked at me. "Good morning, miss. There was some robbery last night and the heroes were not to be found." He said looking at the piece of paper in his hand. Well Duh! Our batch of heroes show up in the day time only, isn't there night shift? "Oh, thank you, officer." I said backing away. "Glad to help you, miss." He was so busy in the investigation. That was so awkward.

I made my way to the HQ without food. I bet they're gonna be angry with me. Nope, they aren't gonna be angry with me. I went upstairs. When I was about to open the door. I saw two persons sitting together. They were so close. I opened to see who it was. When I opened the door. I saw Veronica and Xander kissing. A tear fell in my left eye. Then I heard footsteps coming. They were giggling. It was Fiona and Edmund. When they saw me they hurried towards me. Fiona wiped my tears, Edmund rushed up to grab Xander's collar, they were face to face. He was so angry. I didn't know he's so scary when he gets angry. "How could you?!" Edmund exploded. "I can explain, man-" Xander tried to explain. "You even continued it. Don't you see Cynthia at the door?" He said pointing out to me. He looked at me. Then he went rush through me. "Cynthia. I can explain. I-I -" I slapped him. Then a tear fell in his eyes. Then Fiona and Edmund dragged me out. We went to an ice cream shop. They bought me banana split. They know what my favorite is.

I took my spoon slowly. I was sniffling. "Oh... it's okay Cynthia. You can leave that idiot behind and just move on." She said rubbing her hand at my back. "It's just that-" Sniff. "It's so hard to-" Sniff. "To move on. Leaving him-" Sniff. "Behind-" I cried. "Oh... Cry all you want, darling." Fiona said. Edmund was so grumpy. I bet his thinking something serious. About defending me moments ago. "Ummn... dumpling... I'm hungry. Buy me one too..." She teased Edmund. Edmund smiled at then he called the waitress. "Sure, cupcake. One banana split with sprinkles and marshmallow on top." He ordered her banana split, but much better than mine. Mine was just plain. My heart hurts. It's aching. "Ouch!" They looked at me. I put my hands on my chest. "What's wrong?" They both asked me with caring eyes. "My heart hurts." I admitted. "Well then, let's go to the doctor." Before Fiona could stand up. I grabbed her hand. "No, I'd just stay here. Maybe this won't last." Please! Anywhere but the hospital. "Okay. Then, we'll take you home then." Edmund said. "Yeah, that'd be great." I can smile at them. The pain.

They brought me home. Then I went to bed. I can't sleep because of the pain. I went shopping. I bought an ugly shirt. I don't know why. I wasn't looking at the design. I wasn't even looking at the style. Maybe its color bought it. It was color green... which is Xander's favorite color. I went to buy chocolate and ice cream lots and lots of ice cream. I brought my car. It's been a long time since I didn't use my car. I went home. It was a heavy traffic. When I got home I hid my car keys in my bag and I ate ice cream alone. I watched TV. There was nothing interesting. All of them were romance. This reminded me of Xander.

I turned off the TV I looked for my CD. I put it in the stereo and started listening to rock music. I needed something very noisy to distract me. But, it was too noisy. I turned it off. So, I ate ice cream, again, quietly. Then the phone rang. I stared at it for a moment, I wasn't very chatty right now, the kept ringing, finally I got tired I answered it. "Hello?"
"Cynthia?"
"...Xa-Xander?"
"Yes. Can you meet me in the Mall? I need to explain to you what happened."
I think he's crying. "Fine." I answered plainly. What's the point on talking to him?
"Great. Meet you at Spring's Hall."

"Sure." I was the first who hung up. I took my hoodie. Should I even be going? Does he really need explaining to do? Duh, but does he deserve my second chance?
I rode my car. So that when our "date" ended, I can go home alone. I went to Spring's Hall... There were a few people inside. When I went inside somebody grabbed me. He or She covered my lips and nose with a handkerchief. It smelled like alcohol. Too much alcohol. I can't...breathe....
