My Geeky Boy Best Friend - Chapter 4
From the author of "My Hero".
5 years later
Cameron was shuffling from her bed; you can tell that she was feeling uncomfortable. The dreams still kept on taunting her. Why would that? She’s already 16 years old and she still wasn’t able to sleep peacefully. And what the hell is that irritating noise she keeps on hearing.
Her alarm! She opened her eyes and looked outside her clear window. The sky was already up and the heat was painful. She leapt out of bed and tied her hair.
"Another crappy day ahead." She yawned and scratched her side as she went to the bathroom. For a while she thought a pimple grew on her face, and then looked closer, there was nothing. She stared at herself for a moment, nothing has changed. She still has that long, wavy, chocolate-brown hair, still messy as ever, but who cares? She has slight freckles that don’t seem noticeable and dark emerald-green eyes. She frowned at the sight, how can anyone love that face? Nobody; and then she had this wildest idea; she grabbed for the scissors and brought them towards her hair. She inched the scissor her way to the hair when someone startled the skin out of her. Someone knocked at the door. "Cammie?" It was her mom.
She put down the scissors and opened the door. "What, mom?" She groaned. "Umm… What were you doing in there? It’s already 10, I thought you had-
"10?! Shit! My rehearsal!" Cameron slammed the door at her mother and took her bath. "Sorry, Mom!"
She got out of the shower and wore her black yoke top and matched it with dark shorts and denim oxfords.
Once she got out of the house she took her car keys and went to Erik’s House. Erik is Cameron’s current best friend. Erik punched a guy’s face once when he said that Cameron had a relationship with a tomato because she turns bright red when she laughs. Since then they became best friends and fortunately, he taught her how to sing and they started their own band, when they went to high school. They’ve been playing since. And of course, they picked up two more friends along the way.
When she arrived at Erik’s house she rang the doorbell and she was greeted by a tall guy with a pancake hanging from his mouth. He was tanned and had a cropped chestnut-brown hair. He had a toned body and girls drool over him, but it’s weird; what do they see in him? He’s weird and… He’s just plain weird, but he has talent.
"You forgot again?" Cameron pushed him aside and entered the house. "Forgot what?" He finished his pancake. Cameron stared at him tensely.
"Oh God! Rehearsal! It was today?! Be right back!" He began shuffling on his feet and ran upstairs.
Cameron sighed. She stood there like an idiot (again) waiting for him to run back here. She sat on their huge sofa and crossed her arms across her chest. You see, not only Erik has talent, but he’s rich.
"Just give me 30 minutes!" A muffled voice came from upstairs. He was taking a shower! "Are you taking a shower?!" She screamed.
"Uh… No!" He shouted back.
"ARGH! Hurry up! Kate is waiting at Tim’s house!" She overdramatically said.
She looked up the high ceiling with the huge chandelier dangling. The walls were mentioned and so were the furniture. The old pictures still looked new as if it was taken yesterday. The house was huge and wide, she wondered if they ever felt scared here. A huge house with only 5 people inside? She couldn’t live here.
Moments later, Erik came out all clean and fresh. He was wiping his hair with a towel. "Sorry for the wait." He said and threw the towel on the kitchen counter. He flicked, his head shook it. She doesn’t get boys at all.
"Done?" She said sarcastically. "Almost." He finished buttoning his striped blue polo. "Alright! Who’s car?" He stopped.
"Yours. Duh?" She laughed. "My car then! Let’s get this show on the road." Erik pushed her outside the house and into the car.
