My First Best Friend
The first poem from the author of Curveball and Fire and Ice :)
This is the first poem that I've written for Buzzle. I am the author of Curveball and Fire and Ice, both romances. (The next chapter of Curveball will be out soon) I kind of threw this poem together in about five or ten minutes and I'm pretty sure that it sucks, but I wanted to get my feelings out and I think I succeeded.
I miss you and everything we shared
The play-doh
The swimming
The care-free childhood years
Why did things have to change?
Why aren't we still friends?
When I told you how I felt,
Why did you run away?
Whenever I see you,
You avert your eyes.
I wish I knew how you truly felt inside.
Is it because you hate me?
Or because you're scared?
Scared that I'll see through
To the feelings you've harbored there?
Do you share my feelings?
Or are you glad our friendship ended long ago?
Do you yearn for that friendship?
Or do you wish that I'd leave you alone?
Take me back to the care-free childhood years.
To the play-doh and swimming that we shared.
When things were simple and easy
When you were simply my first best friend
Instead of the enigma that I can no longer understand
If you read Curveball, you can probably guess who this is about. Anyway, what do you guys think about my first poem? Maybe I'll write more in the future :)
