My Country, Mauritius

We all love our country and nation. I wrote a little poem about my country, Mauritius.
I wrote this poem a few months ago. Tell me what you think of it!!!
---------------------------------------------------------
The air was torn,
When the big roar was heard,
And a beautiful island was born,
With thick forests like a beard.

A clear blue sky invaded it,
Along with a few fleecy clouds,
The king sun rose as it lit,
With dazzling brilliancy o'er great crowds,

Of dodos, pigeons and parrots hiding in the bushes,
While the strong, fresh air,
Pushed the waves trying to remove the anchors,
Deep inside the sea, everywhere,

The gust thrust the ship on the sand,
And hundreds of men came,
Who explored the island,
Part of which they planted sugarcane.

Years, decades and centuries passed by,
The island was nothing but a paradise,
People live, laugh, cry and die,
Still nobody dare to criticize.

The island does much progress,
And hopes to improve even more
To come out of the real mess,
Which is crisis and causes sore.

It prays and prays and prays,
After trillions of days,
But is still just,
A tiny island called Mauritius.
