My Cold Prince - Chapter 8

*Jessica's P.O.V.*

I raised my staff in front of me sideways as a shield and Daniel studied me for a moment. I kept on muttering killer and Daniel shot me a dirty look. Oh shut up Daniel. I started shaking in anger and then I yelled. I ran towards Kaname and smacked him hard in the face with my staff. Or so I thought. He managed to grab it and he seemed to be channeling in his energy and before I knew it, I flew back 10 feet. I slammed hard into the wall and felt pain everywhere. I hissed with frustration and I stood up.

"Stop stop! Jess, you got this all wrong!" Daniel yelled and I yelled back, "What the heck is Jess supposed to be?" Daniel thought for a moment and yelled back, "It's your new nickname Jess. Now stop!" I hissed again in frustration and glared at Kaname.

"You murderer!" I muttered under my breath but Daniel seemed to hear me. He turned towards Kaname and quickly whispered something in his ear. Kaname looked at me with an amused expression and I tried hard not to slap him.

"Jessica, there are people who are outcasts in the Shadow Wolves Clan and they were the one who killed your fake parents. They are a disgrace and so they join the Golden Fire." Kaname said and I stared at him for a while. He seemed to be telling the truth so I blinked once, then twice. Daniel was nodding his head behind Kaname and his eyes seemed to tell me to trust Kaname.

"My apologies Kaname," I said gritting my teeth and Kaname smiled slightly. He came over to me and put his hand on my shoulder and I felt better.

"Thanks," I said gratefully and Kaname nodded once. The bell rang five times and Daniel looked at me with a bored expression, but I could tell he was trying to hide his anger that I tried to attack his best friend. Jerk.

"Class time little one. Time for me to hit the girls," He said chuckling and strolled off towards his class, and soon was surrounded by a bunch of girls.

"Girls... so annoying when they zoom up to you," Kaname muttered under his breath and whirled around. He walked towards a room and asked me for my schedule.

"Oh... you're in senior year like me... how interesting," he said and entered the room. I gulped and followed him and heard everyone stop talking as I walked in. The teacher, Mr. Dragonshadow looked at me and hastily rushed towards my side.

"If you want to introduce yourself, you may do so Lady Jessica. It is up to you and you may speak your opinions if you wish," Mr. Dragonshadow said bowing to me. I blinked in surprise and everyone stood up and bowed.

"Welcome Lady Jessica, daughter of the soon to be Lady of the Ancient Dragon Keepers, Lily Windsprings. Enjoy your stay here at the Silent Shadow Academy," everyone said and then sat down again. I blinked again and sat on an empty seat, which turned out to be next to Kaname. Great. Just great.

"Heeyy Kaname," said a girl next to me. I glanced at her and raised my eyebrows. Her hair was vivid pink and she was wearing a very low-cut dress and the dress only came up to her thighs, 4 inches above her knee. What a flirt!

"So are you interested in the party?" She asked, batting her eyelashes and I noticed she was wearing makeup too. She leaned across my desk and I leaned back in disgust. I hate those kind of girls.

"Vanessa, please sit down," Kaname sighed and Vanessa pouted. She stood up and walked over to Kaname and sat on his desk and leaned towards him. I could hear everyone in the class hold its breath and our teacher didn't even notice anything. Yet. I gritted my teeth and turned to the Vanessa person.

"Hey you, go sit on your seat," I said nicely and Vanessa gave me a huge sigh and walked back to her desk.

"You bossy girl," she muttered as she walked past me and I ignored her.

"Well Jessica," Kaname said, acting as if nothing was happening. Oh something BIG was happening right now. IN CLASS!! Girls were following Vanessa's example and the guys were just groaning with pleasure.

"There are four clans. Shadow Wolves, Golden Fire, Ancient Dragons, and Blue Phoenix. There used to be five but the fifth one somehow vanished and they were called the Death Reapers. They could control everything. Nonliving to Living things, mythical to present day creatures." Kaname continued and I nodded. He started telling me about their history and before I knew it, I had memorized most of the spells and history.

"There are also special type of guardians. When we students graduate, we become Shadow Guardians. There are also Death Guardians and... it's super rare to become one of them. Most of them were from the Death Reapers but... ever since they disappeared, there were no more Death Guardians," Kaname said and my eyes widened.

"Oooh I want to become a Death Guardian!" I exclaimed and Kaname shook his head.

"No, many people got killed trying to do it. They had to pass three specialized tests that has to do with horrible things. Many people got hallucinations and many did suicide. It was also called the Murderous Tests. Only the ones who has lots of training, high magic power, and is from the Death Reaper clan are able to become Death Guardians," Kaname said and I nodded.

"Excellent," Kaname said satisfied and stood up.

"Class isn't over," I pointed out and Kaname looked at me with an amused expression. Again.

"I'm going to go and study little girl," he said smirking and I yelled after him, "I hate you Kaname!" I leaned my head against the table and heard someone tap the window. I looked up and jumped from my seat in alarm. Oh please, not him. No... it can't be! My hands shook and I gripped my table for support. I went pale and stared at the window in fear, anger, and surprise. The guy standing outside the window was... Hunter!
