My Best Friend is A Superstar
I'm already starting a new story =p I have a bad habit of not finishing my stories...but I'll do my best to finish the other two.
Chapter 1
Yesterday dad and auntie made me a surprise birthday party. I finally turned 6! I made 3 wishes. First one was to be like my mum.
Although I never met her before since she died right after I was born, but dad says she was a very gentle and beautiful woman. She helped a lot of people and made their dreams come true.
My second wish was to always be healthy alongside my family. And my last wish was to be a person who everyone likes!
Today is my first day of school. There were a lot of children my age in the class. Most of them were mean. But I made friends with a girl called, Alice. She's really nice, and she even has a twin brother who is 3 minutes older than her.
During recess time I saw a guy getting bullied by other guys. Alice looked scared. "That's my brother Derek," she said.
His eyes were the same green as Alice's. His hair though was blonde, while Alice's was a brownish blonde.
Without thinking I picked up a stick and threw it at one of them. Alice held onto my arm tightly. Derek blinked at me. The other three bullies turned toward me.
"You didn't need to do that," Alice whispered.
I was too scared to move. I stood there, frozen in my spot and Alice holding onto my arm. One of them touched my hair. "She's cute," he said. I didn't like his smile.
"Hey! Don't you dare touch her," all the attention went back to Derek.
What was he doing? Before anyone could do anything he got up and walked towards Alice and me. He stared at them with flaming green eyes. It scared me.
The three of them walked away. Wow! I didn't know kids could get scared with only a look. Come to think of it I was scared as well. Derek's eyes were scary, but at the same time sometimes they were so warm and gentle...
10 years later...
Alice is the only one who has reason. I can't believe Derek is her brother. He always has to make me mad. He has to fight with me at least once a week.
"Hey!! Diane, talk to me," he kept saying. I was in my room with dad.
"Diane, he's your best friend. You need to talk to him. You two aren't kids anymore. It's like you are always fighting and then being friends and going out again," dad said. "I'll leave to work now."
I nodded and walked into the balcony. Derek waved at me and smiled. He starts the fights and he's the one who encourages me to be friends again. I couldn't help but to smile back.
"Can we talk?" he asked. His green eyes were so beautiful and they were looking straight at me. He was wearing a white shirt and black shorts. As usual the buttons on his shirt were all open.
"Why don't you button up your shirt first?" I teased.
"I'll do anything but not this. It's so hot. I'd rather take the shirt off."
I smiled. He's right. It was summer, and even at home it was a little hot. "Wait for me," I said. I quickly put on a pink tank top and blue shorts. To be honest ever since kindergarten my only friends were Derek and Alice. As long as they're with me then I'm happy. Even if Derek and I are always fighting, and if Alice and I always have different opinions - well not always really - but we always stand up for each other.
I went outside where Derek was waiting for me. I looked at him and laughed, thinking of the stupid stuff we fight for. "Friends?" he asked.
I nodded and hugged him. He hugged me back, but I could feel that something was wrong. "What's wrong?" I finally asked pulling away.
"If Alice and I ever leave, you'll make new friends and live normally right?" he asked.
Just then I saw Alice coming. I looked at both of them. "What are you trying to say?" I forced a smile.
"Diane, we're traveling," Alice said.
"You're kidding right?"
"You've always been like this Diane. You can't just be friends with us. After we leave please don't just stay alone. You have to continue your life happily and never stop smiling," Derek said.
"Now you're telling me what to do?! When are you leaving?" I was getting mad now.
"After tomorrow. Diane, let's not fight in these two days, ok?"
"Why are you-.."
"It's my dad. He was an actor, you know that right?" he asked.
"Was?"
"He died in a car accident. I need to attend the funeral. I might not come back at all."
Tears were already coming down Alice's eyes. It must be hard for them. It's not their fault after all. Their parents divorced when they turned 10. They kept in contact in the next 6 years. Knowing that their father died without seeing him for the last time must be hard.
I smiled reluctantly. "You guys shouldn't worry too much. You're father would want you to be happy. He'll rest in peace knowing that you guys are doing fine."
Alice hugged me and cried for a while. "You're right. Let's spend the next two days together," she finally said.
"Ok..."
