My Annoying Beautiful Neighbor - Chapter 23

If I don't post soon. Apologies! I'm starting the story, 'Complicated Friends' again.
Jessica's POV
(Monday Afternoon)

After three hours of being in the questioning room I was finally going home. No one said a thing besides the lawyer my parents hired and the investigator questioning me. It was only one officer in the room with me. He wasn't the one I previously had seen and some of the things he asked me did struck a nerve. I just let that slide.

My parents were keeping me quiet as long as they could, but I know they'll have to get me to talk sooner or later.

My parents didn't talk to me when we got home, of course till my dad told me to get out of my room and go in his. There I saw him and my mother. My dad closed the door behind me.

"Tell us everything." My mom said.
"Nothing happened, the end." I said.
"No, these cops will find a way where you will talk! So what happened. Now." She yelled.

I looked at my dad and then my mom. They were dead serious. I wondered if I should drag my fake story off first or just tell them the truth.
"Jessica!" My mom yelled outta nowhere.
"Yes." I looked up at her.
"Tell us now," she said.

"The guy was drunk, didn't know what he was doing over powered whatever." I said rushing out the room and almost running to mine, before closing my door and blasting my music loud, even though I had no intention of listening to it. They will leave me alone if I have music on. They did. I fell asleep as soon as I touched my bed.

Justin's POV

(New Year's Eve, Sunday)

"Where's Jessica?" Matt asked.

I was at Annie's house spending New year's Eve here with Matt, Andrew, and Annie.
"She left again. She's been leaving all week." She said tired of it.
"Where is she going? And what days?" I asked.
"I don't know, she doesn't tell me, but then again Jessica doesn't tell anyone her business." She sighed then continued, "She left on Monday night, Tuesday morning, Wednesday almost all day, and today."

I nodded.
"You think she's gone back to the woods." Andrew asked.
"I don't know maybe." Annie said.

"Let's go out to eat." Matt suggested.

We drove around, till we found some place that we had never been to. As we were sitting down I thought I saw Jessica for a second, but then I looked at the girl again and it was her. Apparently I wasn't the only one who saw her because Annie was already standing by their table talking to them. There was another women with Jessica.

I couldn't see her features from the back of her head. I saw Matt's head over there and looked at Andrew as to ask if we should go, but he just struggled. I went over to the table with Andrew who was following me almost unwillingly.

I looked at Jessica first then at the women, when I finally got to the table. Jessica was annoyed and seemed like a little girl mad at her mother for not buying her some toy.

"No, go away." Jessica said at Annie clearly annoyed at her sister's presence.
The women seemed to be young. In her early 30s. She seemed very polite and sophisticated not someone you would expect Jessica with, if you knew Jessica. Jessica might be rich but she sure doesn't wear expensive jewelry, a lot of new clothes and the latest Jordan's and all that.

She doesn't look poor or wear the same thing constantly, but she isn't those girl who wears skirts, dresses, heels or stuff like that to school. Usually she wears jeans, a shirt that shows her belly or a lot of skin or a normal shirt or Hollister sweaters with boots.

Thinking about it, all she had, was boots, she had plain boots, uggs, combat like boots, tims. She wore other shoes for spring and summer time, but she's not a sneaker head since she only seems to have two pairs of sneakers.

"Annie, you guys grab a chair and sit or shall we move to a bigger table." The women said inviting us to sit with them. She had a British accent. This only made her seem wise.

"No, that's okay. I'm sure they'll have a nice time sitting over there." Jessica said to the women wanting her to stop already.
"Aw, Jessie come on. Who's knows. This could be very fun." She said.
She seemed to have a nice spirit and full of life. Those people who always entertained and was never left out and people loved to be around.

"Alright then." Jessica said leaving.
The women frowned but seemed to figure it'll be best for her to talk to Jessica later because she didn't go after Jessica.

We sat on another bigger table and when we were settled in, the women introduced herself as Lucia.
"Hello Andrew, how you been?" Lucia asked Andrew.
"Hi. Fine." He said acting quite.

I'm guessing this is a family, but doesn't Jessica stay away from all her family? That's what I heard from Andrew a few times and I think I remember Annie hinting the same thing before. Family friend I guess.

"Who are you two?" Lucia said looking at us with interest in her eyes. I saw her eyes click from Matt to me. For a second I thought she had her stare longer on me and I saw a slightest smile on her lips after something flashed through her eyes.

"I'm Justin." I said.
"Oh, I heard about you. Nice meeting you." She said smiling at me with a face I couldn't read. I wonder what was so funny because she seemed a little amused but was hiding it well. Maybe I was just imagining this. What could she be thinking this second?

Did she say she heard about me. How?
"Uhm what have you heard?" I asked.
"Oh, that you'll achieve good things and others things." She said.
"What other things?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing just other things." She said.
I cursed in my mind at her for avoiding the question well, but I don't want to seem too interested.
"Oh, from who?" I said not sure if I should continue this.
"People, different people." She said.
Clever women I thought. Too clever, I wouldn't feel right ever dating a woman like her.

She turned to Matt.
"I'm Matt, Annie's boyfr-" He cut himself off. "Annie's friend." He finished.
Me and Andrew cracked up loudly, but quite down quickly. A laugh escaped from Lucia's mouth as well. Annie was blushing looking away from us, I could tell she was grinning. Matt's face was stiffly embarrassed and he couldn't stop looking at Annie. He tried but only lasted three seconds.

"Okay." Lucia said.

During the dinner, every one seemed to be put in the spot except Lucia. She didn't let that happen as she answered all questions with answers, no one could question. We headed back to the house. Music was coming loudly from Jessica's room.
"I'll go turn that off." Annie said.
"No, I will." Andrew said.

Andrew went in and after a while I got bored and went over there to see what was keeping Andrew so long.
"I don't care your secret safe with me." Jessica said.
"You better keep it with you." He threatened.
"Look, no one will ever know good guy Andrew walked into a girl, basically about to get raped and walk out." She said, anger building up.
"What?" I yelled into the room.
Jessica looked at me surprised but quickly shooed us out her room.
"You let that happen to her." I asked.
"It's not like it seems like if you were the-" He started.
"No, if I were there, this wouldn't happen! I don't care who it is, if you like them or not but to let that happen is sick." I yelled at him.

He stayed quite. I was beginning to get tired of Andrew. Not helping Jessica, giving Lucia the cold shoulder leaving her hanging a lot throughout the dinner, judging Jessica so much and saying the worst things ever, not giving enough chances or be so forgiving. He didn't really care, he's so heartless to anyone who he's not close to or is special to him in a way or likes. For now, I was done with being his friend.

****************************************************************

I got home and fell asleep instantly. Good, cause I hated the drive home and all I thought about.
I woke up with the noise of my family partying. I heard my oldest brother's loud yell. Shut up I thought.
12:46 January 1,2012.
"What a great fucking new year?" I said, aloud going back to sleep.

Evan's POV

(February 10, 2012)

I waited for Aaron to get out the bathroom. I looked around the cinema. I saw Tiffany my old girlfriend from Jameson. I turned around, looking around at the bathroom, but felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to a bright smiling Tiffany.

"Hey." I said, as she hugged me and I hugged her back.
"Hey, who you with." She asked.
"Aaron, you." I asked.
"Oh, I think I remember you telling me about him and Carolina, I know her by family."
"Oh." I said getting it.
I saw Aaron walking out the bathroom and said goodbye to Tiffany.
"She seems friendly." Aaron said in a half amused tone. Tiffany had the biggest smile on her face while talking to whoever.
"Yeah, she is. That's what I like about her." I said, looking back at her with her friend.

****************************************************************

"So I saw Tiffany today at the movie." I told my mom.
"Aw, she's so nice. I only wish you would stop running away from your problems." She said.
"What?" I said.
"Oh, stop it Evan. You run away from your problems." She said.

I know I did. I ran away from Tiffany, now I'm doing it to Lindsay. It's a horrible cycle. Going from one thing to another as quick as I entered it.

(April 20, 2012)

The mall was closing and I was sad to see this day end. Why did it had to end? For the first time in the longest I felt not like a loner, I was surrounded by friends. I was with my friends from Jameson who lived in New York. They had spring break and were here at their home towns.

I missed Jameson even if I hated that I had to go to that school in the first place.

Tiffany pulled me and tugged me to the side. I looked at her smiling then turning serious.

"What's up?" I asked her.

"So, I been thinking about things. Ever since we got close after we saw each other at the movies well I want to give us another try, but this time don't hold back. I mean don't at all. Because it won't work that way, if we do try. The first time it ended and I have my questions. We could try it again but better and don't hold anything back." She said looking at my eyes and face for an answer.

I've been feeling that too, but I still had feelings for Lindsay. I guess I didn't know who I actually loved.

"Sure." I said.
