Chapter 9
Shaun's P.O.V.
I can't believe Bailey actually let me stay at her house. I wasn't expecting that until I told her what happened to me. It hurt so much to tell her what happened to me a few years ago. I didn't want to remember it, but I didn't want to keep any secrets from Bailey so I told her.
She took it well, I guess. She's the only one who knows. After I told her, we made plans on where I would sleep and do other things. The main problem was keeping this a secret from her parents. I seriously don't want to hide in her closet again.
During dinner, I realized that I left my laptop and backpack in my marked tree in the park.
"Hey, Bailey?"
"Yeah?"
"I left my laptop and backpack at the park."
"Oh."
"I'll go get it after we finish eating." This sushi was good.
After dinner, it was 8:02 pm, and already dark. I grabbed my sweatshirt and started heading downstairs.
"Hey," Bailey called, "Wait up!"
"You're not coming, I don't want you to get hurt, and it's dark out."
"No way," she argued. "I'm coming. I don't want you to go alone after what happened in the alley," she said.
"No, I seriously don't want you to get hurt. It's the park, and who knows how many homeless people are there."
"No, I'm coming." I knew that I wasn't going to win this argument.
"Fine," I sighed. "But if anything happens, you have to promise you'll do what I say."
"Okay," she said reluctantly.
I couldn't let anything happen to Bailey. I felt horrible knowing that I was bringing her into a dangerous area.
At night.
