My Adventure ~Chapter 19~
The final chapter of My Adventure. Enjoy!
Chapter 19
Bailey's P.O.V
I looked out the window of Al's truck and stared out at the endless desert scenery. A few minutes later I saw a sign that said "Welcome to Fallen Lead County". I rested my head on Shaun's shoulder and looked up at him. He smiled and put his arm around me, carefully avoiding the part of my arm where I had just gotten stitches. Al looked through his rearview mirror and smiled.
After the ambulance had taken me to the E.R, they rushed me into the O.R. where I got 11 stitches on my shoulder. The next day, I was feeling better so Al, Shaun's new friend, was driving us home. The drive would take about a day, which was ok because today was Thursday. My parents wouldn't be coming home I until Sunday. I was feeling a little sleepy so I dozed off on Shaun's arm.
Shaun's P.O.V.
I looked down at Bailey and saw her asleep on my shoulder. I was so glad that she was back with me. I suddenly remembered that I still had Bailey's necklace in my pocket. I reached into my pocket and took out the necklace and carefully put it around Bailey's neck and fastened it. Feeling something on her neck, she opened her eyes and looked down and saw the necklace. She looked up at me, smiled, and kissed me. I smiled back and she put her head back on my shoulder and I stroked her hair. We had about three hours left until we reached her house.
Bailey's P.O.V.
We finally arrived at my house. It was about 11:45 pm when we got there. We got out of the car and greatly thanked Al. We exchanged phone numbers and he said that of we ever needed him again to give him a call. We thanked him again and he drove off. Shaun and I went to my front door and I reached behind our potted plant to get the spare key. I unlocked the door and Shaun locked it behind me.
We were both extremely tired so we went upstairs into my room. We had both showered at the hospital so we were clean. I fished out a pair of boxer shorts and a loose tee shirt for myself and Shaun wore what I gave him the last time he slept here. We brushed our teeth and crawled into bed and turned the light off.
I stared into Shaun's eyes and he stared back into mine. We both shared a smile of knowing and love. He kissed me and we stayed that way for a while. I lay on his arm, my head on his chest, and he put his arm around me. This is how I wish it could be forever. I listened to his steady breathing and felt his chest slowly rise and fall and started to fall asleep. "I love you," Shaun whispered to me right as I was about to fall asleep. My heart glowed. I smiled and looked into his eyes and said, "I love you too."
