Must I Be Your Bride?: Chapter One

The night was full of complete silence. Every time I stepped on a wrapper or a stick I would jump at the sudden noise. Suddenly I no longer felt alone. I could feel someone watching me. Watching my every move.
I thought I'd try to post this story again because I actually kinda like it. So if it does go through then I hope you enjoy my vampire story!

I walked behind Katherine through the crowd, feeling smaller with each step I took. This was the first party I've ever really been to. One of the reasons for that was because I wasn't allowed to, but I never really craved to sneak out of my house to make it to one. This was all Katherine's idea, but it's my fault for agreeing to it.

"I think I changed my mind", I told her. She didn't hear me so I tapped her shoulder and repeated myself a bit louder this time.
"It's fine! You'll have fun! I promise! We just need to get to the drinks." She grabbed my hand and she started pushing through the high school kids, none of them even caring to notice.

We finally made it to the drinks and Katherine grabbed two beer bottles, handing me one. I folded my arms at her. "I told you I wasn't drinking. My mom has a super smell when it comes to that."

She shrugged. "We'll buy a toothbrush and some toothpaste. That should do it."
I eyed the bottle for a second hesitantly but then looked away. "You know what; I'm getting out of here."I glanced around for an opening and was relieved I found one. I started marching away, trying to avoid any physical contact with anybody.
"Serene! Oh come on please stay!" I ignore her until her voice was finally faded into the loud music. I found the front door and ran out, relieved to smell the fresh, drunk-free air.

I looked around at the empty street, shivering when I realized how cold it was. With a sigh I started back to my home, my sneakers squeaking with every step. I came here in a car, and even then it took about ten minutes to get here. Maybe less. I knew that it wasn't a good idea for me to walk alone at night but neither was sneaking out to go to a party.

Five minutes into my walk I noticed that it was getting colder. I felt myself getting goose bumps on my legs and arms. I shouldn't have worn shorts, but not even my arms were warm under my jacket. I stopped when I found myself with two paths to choose from. Both of them looked the same.

Oh great.

I can't remember which way I came from. I hesitantly took the left street and searched for anything familiar. The sidewalk became into dirt, and the houses were no longer big and well painted. The street lights slowly got lower and dimmer but it didn't hide the trash that filled the street.

I stopped walking and glanced back. I'm taking the wrong street. I have to be. I turned around and started heading back, starting to push down the fear that kept insisting to show. The night was full of complete silence. Every time I stepped on a wrapper or a stick I would jump at the sudden noise.

Suddenly I no longer felt alone. I could feel someone watching me. Watching my every move. I froze and glanced around, squinting in the dim darkness. I could see nothing. I hesitantly sped up my speed and tried to act like I didn't notice someone was there with me, but of course I did. I took another glance behind me and that's when I noticed a flicker of a shadow. It disappeared so quickly that I wasn't sure if it was even real.

I didn't need another warning. I took in a deep breath and started running. I took another quick glance behind me, to see if someone was following, but I saw nothing. I went down to a jog, not sure if this was all in my mind. I bit my lips.

Right before I could go down to a walk, I tripped on some empty back of Doritos and fell to the hard ground, accidentally biting my lips hard enough to taste the sour blood. I groaned as I forced myself to sit up, resting there for a moment.

Everything was silent. For some reason I hesitantly turned around, blinking into the night. I could see a figure standing over me, making me gasp. I tried to stand up but noticed how weak my legs were when I fell back down onto the floor.

So my head wasn't playing a game with me. Someone was really following me. I should scream. I need to scream. Why can't I scream? I felt like there was a tennis ball stuck in my throat not allowing me to let out a screech. What I didn't expect was this man to offer his hand.

"I'm not going to hurt you", he assured.

I didn't reply; I couldn't. All I could do was stare at his had that looked nothing but a shadow.

He shrugged. He took a step back. I slowly got to my feet once again, holding on to a fence nearby to stay standing. I hesitated. I didn't know what to say. I just wanted him to turn around and leave.

Silence...

"You're bleeding", he suddenly said. His voice was no longer calm. He seemed to have forced the words out.

I reached up to touch my face and was surprised to not find a cut there. I looked at him a bit confused.

"Your lips", he said hesitantly.

I licked my lips and remember how I accidentally bit my lips hard enough that I feared it would leave a scar.

He took steps toward me, making me freeze in place. He got close enough for me to see his eyes. They seemed to be frowning. When I looked into his eyes I could see a faint blue. It was like I could see through them.

"Get -" suddenly he pinned me against the fence, his head turning slightly. He was looking at something, but it wasn't my eyes.

I let out a shaky breath, not sure if struggling was a good or bad idea, so I remained frozen. It was like I couldn't move even if I wanted to.

It wasn't hard to tell he was attractive. He seemed like one of those guys that should be in a movie. A guy that should be on a poster in every girl's room. Yet, he didn't look so charming at the moment. He looked about ready to burst. His eyes were struggling between hatred and vulnerability.

He cupped my chin, and it was then I realized he was staring at my lips. Suddenly he bend down and placed his lips on mine, shocking me entirely. I barley heard as he let out a moan, a frustrated moan. He seemed more focused on my bottom lip...

His hand on my chin tightened as his jagged breath filled the hair, mixing with mine.

I wanted to push him away, attempt to scream, but I couldn't move. It wasn't only because his body pinned mine, but somehow I had no control over my body. All I could do was watch it being taken advantage of.

I realized that I was starting to get desperate to breathe, since breathing with my nose alone wasn't enough. I tried to force my hands to move and made an attempt to push him away, but I made no movement.

Suddenly he froze.

He backed away and had a look on his face that looked like he had just awoken from a shocking dream. He took a step back, not leaving my gaze. He seemed to be in thought for a moment, trying to make an unknown decision. A couple of minutes later he finally turned around and disappeared into the night, leaving my stiff body feel free to move again.

I quickly took my phone out of my pocket and dialed Katherine's number, trying to run as far from the truck as I could.

"He what?" She seemed shocked at what I had told her. I had to remind her to keep her eyes on the road several times already.

"Why do I keep needing to repeat myself", I said frustrated, "He kissed me."

She was silent for a moment. "Was he... young?"

I shrugged. "Yeah he was. Probably some drunken kid I guess."

"Yeah of course." She agreed.

"I'm never going to a party you invite me again." I sighed and leaned my forehead against the freezing cold car window.

I could feel Katherine frown but she knew not to say more. It wasn't long before she parked a few houses away from my house. I still and will always regret sneaking out. It was the worst idea ever. A mistake. I horrible memory.

"I'll see you later." I got out of her car and walked quietly back to my house. I went around the back, climbed the big tree, and carefully lifted my window and jumped in.

I changed into some sweats, not bothering to change my shirt and went under my covers relieved.

I tossed and turned for several minutes, finally finding my comfortable spot. I was finally drifting to sleep when I thought I heard footsteps. At first I made nothing of them, thinking it was a half dream, but when I realized how close and loud they were I quickly sat up.

I blinked, trying to clear my blurry vision. At first all I made out was a faint dark shadow at the end of the bed, but as my vision cleared, I met familiar blue eyes. I gasped and wanted to back away from him as far as I could, but I seemed frozen. The man who had kissed me earlier placed a cold hand on my shoulder and suddenly I was in complete darkness.

So I got this idea from the story I read. If this chapter goes through then I'll tell you the name and where I read it. It was really cheesy and hilarious and I guess I was just having that week where I didn't mind reading a very dramatic addicting story. Hope you like it. :)
