Music Industry: Boy Bands
The music industry and the pop segment could never be complete without the mention of boy bands. Here is a list of some hottest boy band groups that were really drool-worthy in all respects.
Hottest Boy Bands of the Music Industry
Take That:
This was by far, my favorite boy band group! Formed by Nigel Smith in 1990, Take That is a British pop group that rocked the music industry with their chart-busting tracks. It only took me a minute to fall in love with this group when their first track (It only takes a minute) hit the number 7 position on the UK charts. Success followed this boy band with Everything Changes, I Found Heaven, Love Ain’t Here Anymore, Pray, Relight My Fire that set the charts ablaze. Hunk Gary Barlow sizzled in his rendition of Relight my Fire and Mark Owens captured hearts with Babe. Take That could never be complete with Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange. With the departure of Robbie Williams, Take That announced their split in 1996. They announced a world tour later on which turned out to be a complete sell out. Take That continued with their tours in 2007 performing on all their hit numbers.
Backstreet Boys:
Backstreet Boys are an American boy band group. Consisting of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A. J. McLean and Kevin Richardson, these captured the hearts of many through their music and groovy videos. Their chart topping numbers, I’ll Never Break Your Heart, Quit Playing Games With My Heart, Backstreet’s Back, Shape Of My Heart won the hearts of many. Kevin Richardson split from the group in 2006. Despite this, the Backstreet Boys planned come back albums and continued with their outstanding work with their 6th international album, Unbreakable, released in 2007.
East 17:
East 17 tastes fame in the early to mid 1990s. This group came from London and consisted of members-Brian Harvey, John Hendy, Terry Coldwell and former member, Tony Mortimer. Beginning in 1992, East 17 scaled new heights with their single, Deep. Their debut album Walthamstow, featured a string of hits. It’s Alright is a my personal favorite with some amazing moves performed by these bit band members. This boy band also had its share of downfalls with the departure of Mortimer and bad publicity due to Harvey.
Boyzone:
Boyzone saw tremendous popularity and caused a phenomenon in the 1990s. This Irish boy band had a number of hit albums to their name. Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy saw stupendous success with their chartbuster video, Love Me For A Reason. Words, A Different Beat, Baby Can I Hold You Tonight, Picture Of You etc all climbed the charts with an amazing pace. Like all other boy band groups, members of Boyzone also parted ways to pursue their individual careers. The members did come together for a group performance in 2000.
New Kids On The Block:
This boy band also rates high on my favorite boy band list. This boy band saw tremendous success in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. Boy band members Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey Mcintyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood won the hearts of millions of women all over and the group sold over 70 million albums worldwide. Step By Step, The Right Stuff, Hangin’ Tough and I’ll Be Loving You, got them international fame. Step By Step was the biggest selling single and also incorporated snazzy dance moves in the music video.
Westlife, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, 911, Bed and Breakfast, Code Red, Color Me Badd, ’N Sync also formed a part of the Boy Band bandwagon. Of course, I am sure the girls aren’t complaining! Boy bands are definitely here to stay; no matter what people may say. Here’s hoping all the boy bands would come together and give us some more hot singles!
