Mushrooms Drug Test
Though a mushrooms drug test is not one of the standard ones, it is conducted to check for excessive dosage, at times. Find out more about this test in the article below.

Effects of Mushrooms
Mushrooms belong to the Psilocybe genus. There are over 150 different types of mushrooms, which have psychedelic properties in them. The two most commonly found psychedelics in mushrooms are psilocybin or psilocin. These mushrooms when ingested in excessive quantities can have effects on the body and mind of the person. Some of these effects of shrooms on the brain are hallucinations, acute anxiety, paranoia and other similar experiences. As far as effects of shrooms on the body are concerned, you could feel a high that involves a pleasant titillating sensation accompanied by a sense of physical and mental lightness and elation.
Though these effects may seem pleasant, remember, like any other psychedelic, mushrooms too are dangerous. More dangerous in fact, because you can go terribly wrong while picking them. Picking wrong, moldy or worse, poisonous mushrooms can have adverse effects on the body and the mind. Another thing is that consuming these magic mushrooms need not necessarily take you on a high. You could end up having a 'bad trip' which will leave you drained with a sense of forlorn paranoia and unpleasant psychosis.
Psilocybin Mushrooms Drug Test
It is not a common practice for psychedelic mushrooms drug testing to be carried out. Standard drug testing involves testing for:
- Amphetamines (amphetamines, methamphetamines, speed)
- Cannabinoids (marijuana, hash)
- Cocaine (cocaine, crack, benzoylecgonine)
- Opiates (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine)
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
Apart from the physical effects, the effects of shrooms on the brain after a 'bad trip' can be quite devastating to the user. They may come back to him in what is called a 'flashback'. This is a bitter experience, in which the person may recall all his hallucinations and terrifying emotions that he did on his 'trip'. Common sense says that no drug should be taken for granted, whether it's going to be tested for or not. So, mushrooms drug test or not, it is definitely better to avoid the over intake of these magic mushrooms to prevent any harrowing situations later on. Because like other psychedelic, getting addicted to mushrooms is very easy and getting rid of the addiction is exactly the opposite, maybe even worse.
