A Few Multilevel Marketing Tips
Find out ways to stay at the forefront of the network marketing industry. Find out how to give your work at home business a boost.
If you have decided that your home business is a multi-level marketing organization, there are a few things that you should know to keep you aligned with current trends. I was recently told these tips by a guy who has worked with the likes of Seth Godin and other top marketers. He has worked with the best, and done his research.
As you build your home business mlm opportunity, remember to refer to your downline as your organization or better yet, as your 'community'. Some of the individuals in your personal sales group may personally object to being referred to as a 'downline' because of its subliminal hierarchical implications. They probably won't quit just because you called them a member of your downline, buy why get off on the wrong foot with someone new? Speaking of semantics, another tip is to call lead prospects 'prospective partners' or perhaps better yet, 'potential partners'.
Again, some people, especially those that are very individualistic, may secretly resent being called a mere 'lead' or 'prospect'. That label may reduce them to an object in their mind, whereas they see themselves a living, breathing, unique individual. A human 'being', not just a noun. Again, this factor alone may not necessarily be the deal breaker, but any edge you can get couldn't hurt. And here is a tip regarding words you say to yourself. If you are about to call some leads, do not say phrases such as 'I am gonna start hitting the phones now", "I am about to start hitting the leads", or "I am ready to start attacking this lead list". No, you are actually about to call a friend on the phone who may be a potential partner. Even if they do not join your esteemed home business opportunity, you have at least made a friend. And friends often refer other potential partners to you. Using words like 'attack' and phrases such as "I will tear into this list asap" can put you in the wrong mind-set from the start.
Speaking of your mind-set, when bringing someone into your home business do not be bent on them necessarily being a full fledged, aggressive "closer" type distributor right off the bat. Instead, you may want to present your opportunity as more of a shopping club, especially if your prospective partner happens to be a female. Home Business Opportunities is a good place to begin the search.
Anyway, women make the vast majority of buying decisions in the United States, I was told, and when they like a product, they almost always tell their friends about it. Communication is, he said, primarily a female trait. So your let your prospective partner ease into the company via the products, let her enjoy the products while not feeling pressured. If she likes them, then, sure enough, she will tell her friends. And they will tell their friends, and so on.
Later on you can slowly ease her into more of leader-type position, if she is comfortable doing so. If not, well, you still need to move product, not just sign up new reps, right? In fact some top network marketers suggest that you build your customer base first anyway, and then recruit leaders from that base.
