Movies to See Before The Oscars 2011

Which movies to see before the Oscars 2011? Tough choice, isn't it?. There are so many brilliant examples of film-making released last year that it really becomes tough to choose a few and advise you to view them. However, there are some which have been my personal favorite, and I do advise you to watch them. Here are the names.
The 83rd Academy awards are going to take place on February 27th 2011. Almost all movie lovers are going to sit in front of the television all night to view it. This marvelous celebration happens once a year when potential contenders from all the various fields of movie making are nominated. Always remember, to be nominated for an Oscar the feeling is too huge. Only the best of the best get nominated and the very best wins. This year also we have some amazing nominees and some great movies. If you plan to watch the Oscars, it is important to know about the brilliant movies which have been nominated. But if you want to judge the deserving ones, you need to watch all the nominated films.

Even if you had a busy year all around and you haven't been able to catch some good films. This article can be quite helpful in knowing why the following ones are a must watch and definitely deserve a win at the Oscars.

The King's Speech
Leading the race with 12 nominations, the film has already been tagged as a historical masterpiece. The story portrays a British monarch overcoming his stammering odds. Colin Firth plays King George VI, a King with a fear of public speaking. His speech therapist who also becomes his friend Lionel Logue played by Geoffrey Rush. A must watch!

Inception
Coming at #2 on the list of movies to see before the Oscars 2011, is Inception. A sci-fi thriller which will make you speechless. Christopher Nolan keeps his record of surprising you with a thriller that can be called flawless. Inception leads the race with 8 nominations and there are many rumors that it will bag the Oscar for special effects.

Black Swan
A psycho-thriller about a ballerina, her ambitions and her rivals. Black Swan is a story about Natalie Portman as a dancer on the verge of getting her big break and Mila Kunis her biggest competitor. Why it's the best? Just Google Natalie Portman, and you will see the mountains of praise she's getting for her role in Black Swan and she's a favorite in winning the best actress award.

The Social Network
If you are connected with all your friends with the help of the biggest social networking site Facebook, watch this movie. It's a story about Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook founder) and his journey as a Harvard college student till he discovers Facebook. The movie did very well commercially and critically.

127 Hours
From all the movies that came out this year, 127 Hours deserves a special mention. It's based on a true story of Aron Ralston (a mountain climber) played by James Franco who gets his hand stuck between a rock and a hard mountain. It's the ultimate tale of survival by Danny Boyle and this movie scores high on my list.

Toy Story 3
One of the best movies to watch before the Oscar night 2011 is the last installment in the Toy Story franchise. Toy Story 3 is also the highest grossing movie of 2010 collecting over $1 billion worth of revenue. Woody, Buzz and the Gang says goodbye to Andy as he heads off to college. A great film which leaves you with happy tears in the end.
