Mother

Sometimes mothers don’t do what they say the will.
You told me you loved me
You told me you cared

You told me you’d never leave me
And that you would always be there

You told me I was perfect
You told me I was great

You told me you would hold me
Even if it was late

You told I could talk to you
You told me you would listen

You told me you wouldn’t leave me
You told me you couldn’t

You told me when I need you all I had to do is call
You told me you would catch me if I was to ever fall

You told me you loved me for last time the other night
You told me not to worry everything will be alright

You told me you will watch over me
You told me to be strong

For the last time you told me goodnight.
