Mosaic Tile Classification

Mosaic is an art of matching, a display of putting assorted color of stones, seashells, porcelain or glass on wall or floor to form gorgeous patterns.

Mosaic tile is used broadly on bathroom wall and floor, on which people is accustomed to glue white or single-color porcelain tile, making the whole bathroom dull and lifeless. Nowadays, as the area of bathroom become larger and larger, the style and material selections for decorating materials in the bathroom become broader and broader. It’s good alkali-resistant ability, even chips specs and uniform color keeping it’s original favor eternally. The only short point for glass mosaic is low wear-resistant ability.

c. Crystal glass mosaic tile: Crystal glass mosaic tile is new type of mosaic which is evolved from common glass mosaci tile. This kind of mosaic tile has specially lustrous surface and the chips have been developed to different specs and random shapes, especially great for hotel, market and home decorating.

d. Quartz mosaic tile: Formed under high temperature, this kind of quartz mosaic tile is body-through and with excellent skip-resistance ability, suitable for interior and exterior floor decorating.

e. Porcelain mosaic tile: The porcelain mosaic tile is fired under high temperature and then a layer of glaze apply on the surface to form a polished surface, has the strength of never color-fading. There are matte and polished surface with matte tile more suitable for bathroom and wading pool floor. Polished porcelain mosaic tile is more applicable to wall decorating.

f. Metal mosaic tile: As its name implies, metal mosaic tiles are made of different kinds of metallic materials. There are also brushed and polished surfaces available. It’s better to dot in partial area to add a piece of glossy in the room.

Besides the above mosaic tile, some new types of mosaic tiles come into existence recently as the designer’s creation goes, such as the natural seashell mosaic, cork mosaic or any used things that could be cut into pieces and form patterns.
