Morning Prayer

My morning prayer before leaving for work.
Today I arise from a sleepless night with age touching my eyes
I struggle to get out of bed knowing I am blessed to be alive
I made it thru another night guided by your touch
I guess it is true about what they say; you do love us that much
In the night I squandered my time only to see that it was a waste of my time
During the day I work like a slave answering emails and multi phone lines
I know each day is not promised and I don’t plan for the next
Yet I expect the next day to be better than the rest
I survive the ride to work daily only to be beat down at work
I expect my day to be great, you promised but I don’t say thank you for keeping me above dirt
