Moonlight (Chapter 8)
She knows everything...or does she. Sam is so confused right now she doesn't know what to do.
Chapter 8
(Chris's POV)
After Sam left the whole coven almost attacked me. I walked her out to her car and gave her a kiss goodbye, she looked like she was the happiest girl in the world. As she drove away Charlie came up and snarled at me.
"What was all of that about!?!," she shouted.
"It's nothing Charlie, you wouldn't understand, it's not in your history."
Charlie looked at me as if I had slapped her across the face. She had been through enough torture to last a lifetime, and I knew it. She jumped on me and began to claw me in the face.
"It's not in my history?," she screamed as she kept slashing at me.
I then fought back and sent her flying. She was fuming and her fangs were barred in determination to kill me. She had a right to, but this was none of her business. While she was gone gallivanting around the world with her "true love" I was the one who was put in this stupid prophecy. She jumped at me like a tiger ready to snap its prey's neck. She was on the hunt and her prey was me. The whole coven watched as she attacked. Some had smiles, others were trying to figure out who was going to win. Others seemed to have no interest in the fight at all; they were just joining the others to be entertained. I threw her back and stood over her. I looked down and knew I couldn't kill her. I loved her. She was my sister. Her faced showed the defeat that she felt and her black eyes showed the anger that was welled up inside of her.
"This isn't over," she said," as long as you hang around her you will have me at your back, she will break your heart if you imprint."
I knew she said this out of concern for me from her experience, but the only thing that Sam could do to hurt me is to die and leave me again. I wasn't going to try to change her. As far as I knew she didn't want that anyway, and she had only just gotten to know me in this lifetime.
I slowly got up and walked away. I walked up to my room and began to think over everything. Charlie would kill me if I decided to imprint with Sam. She knew that it would be wrong. She didn't know everything about the whole situation but she knew that if I imprinted I probably wouldn't get over it like she did. I didn't have the heart to kill cities, and cities of people. I would probably just kill myself, because she was my only reason for living. That's what it becomes when you imprint with a person. They become your everything and without them there's no point in being alive anymore. Or at least that's the way iv heard it feels. I didn't know what to do about the whole situation...and if I were to truly have Sam I would have to kill Aaron...and that wasn't going to be easy. Usually she would always become mine, yes I lied to her she would have changed her mind. I wanted to look like my heart had been broken many times; which it had but not in the way she thought. I knew her, unlike everyone else and I knew if she felt she had to choose me she wouldn't want me and in this lifetime she had a choice and that push towards me wasn't as strong, she could choose and that was new. I wasn't about to let her choose this archangel Aaron...she would choose me, and I would win.
(Aaron's POV)
As she walked into the house I could smell him on her. The reek of death seemed to fill every room as her smiling face walked into the kitchen. I was sitting at her wooden dining room table that sat in on the other side of the room. As soon as she saw me her face faded into a line of shame.
"I need to talk to you," she said as she walked back towards her room.
I followed her, wondering what she could need to tell me that was so important. I mean she knew wasn't going to tell me about how she had just been with the vampire...probably a whole lot of them by the smell of her.
As we got to her room she shut the door behind us, and began to tell me about everything that she now knew, and what all had happened. I was outraged! It wasn't his duty to tell her! I was supposed to be the one to tell her and she wasn't supposed to choose him over me!! She was mine, always had been and that walking carcass knew that! I turned and punched her gray blue bedroom wall. My fist print now very visible in it, I turned to her. Tears stinging my eyes I began to say...
"Sam, you and I have known each other forever, in the sense as in we've been friends forever in this lifetime and every other one. He told you lies however. You were made for him originally, and I was supposed to be your consort and keep you safe and well for him. But I fell in love with you Sam. Iv always loved you, and this lifetime you can choose me. You can choose to live and be something that you weren't supposed to be, you can change"
She looked at me like her heart had just been ripped out. She knew I was right. She knew I would never lie to her, and she barley knew him. I slowly unfurled my wings and walked over to her. She looked up in awe at them. Black feathers fell down my sides and I looked down into her eyes. She knew I was right; she just didn't know what she wanted to do yet. I wrapped myself around her body and held her. She was all I wanted, She meant the world to me. I could feel her soul reach for me. She knew she didn't know what she wanted. But she also knew that if she chose wrong it would put everything out of balance.
