Moon Signs and Astrology

Astrology is a system of beliefs, which deals with a person's destiny on the basis of the positioning of various celestial bodies at the time of his birth. The theory of moon signs and astrology bases the astrological sign of a person on the sign through which moon was traveling when the person was born. For example, if a child is born when the moon is traveling through Taurus, the child is said to be a Taurus. Taurus becomes the moon sign of that child. The concept of moon signs and astrology groups people into 12 broad categories. Each moon sign is the symbol of a class of people. People with the same moon sign are believed to exhibit certain similar personality traits. They have some similar characteristics, which can group them under the same category. Each moon sign has a ruling planet. Mercury rules the moon signs Gemini and Virgo. Sun and the Moon are not planets but they are rulers of the moon signs Leo and Cancer respectively.

Astrology is the study of the positions of celestial bodies in the sky and their effect on the events in a person's life. With the calculations of their positions and their due influences on the personality and life of a human being, it is possible to judge a person and predict his future on the basis of Astrology.

In case of zodiac signs, all the people born in a particular period of about 30 days have the same zodiac sign. It is because the Sun remains in the same sign for the period of around 30 days. For example people born between the dates March 21 to April 20 belong to the sign Aries. In the system of Moon signs and astrology, the sign through which moon travels at the time of a person's birth determines his/her sign. Moon changes its position after about every 2.4 days thus contributing towards the variety in human natures, moods and personalities. Moreover, moon has a large impact on human psychology. Moon influences the tidal behavior of the oceans. Human body is 75% water. So there appears logic in saying that moon affects humans!

Similar to every moon sign being ruled by a planet, astrology also associates an element with each moon sign. The twelve moon signs are classified under fire, earth air and water elements. Taurus: - Those who belong to this moon sign are sentimental and romantic. They are determined people and love stability. They are loyal and reliable. They yearn for a comfortable and luxurious life. Those with the moon in Taurus are seen to take up occupations like real estate, property, art and design.

Gemini: - People belonging to this sign are talkative and witty. They are ambitious. They are suitable for changing lifestyles. Due to their love for change, they tend to deviate from their goals. They are considered to be flirts and tend to change partners from time to time. Fields of accountancy, investment and journalism suit these people. In general, multiplicity is seen in their nature.

Cancer: - People born under the moon sign cancer, are emotional by nature. They have a strong understanding of the feelings of others. They find it difficult to come out of their memories and to get out of their feelings. Cancerians are affectionate and peaceful. Their home and family is their priority. Pisces: - Pisceans make loyal and trustworthy friends. They are people you can safely share your secrets with. They are sensitive and get troubled by the trouble of their dear ones. They live in the present and face every situation as and when it comes. They do well in fields where diligence and detailed work is required.

Hold on.... Astrology is not just about your traits matching with the moon sign you fall under. Astrology is about the influences of many other astral bodies on you. It is about the placement and movement of all the planets in our solar system which impact human life. Astrology further takes you to horoscopes, which are charts depicting the positions of various planets at the time of your birth. Every celestial body brings in the attributes characteristic to it. Your personality then becomes an outcome of the influences cast by these celestial bodies. Moon signs and astrology is a vast subject that requires a thorough study of stars, planets and their impingement on human life.

According to me, positions of the Moon, the Sun and other planets are not the soul factors determining your personality. Astrology is not the only science of your life. Lives are shaped by the circumstances one has to face and the efforts he takes in facing them. Future is the result of the pains taken during the present. Moon signs and astrology might influence your personality but these factors do not decide it!
