Congratulations. You have a blog that is up and running and you add fresh content and intelligent stories to it daily. You know the stories and articles you pour onto the pages are interesting and exciting to your readers. You know people are reading them, and that their interest is being peaked, as you receive comments from them all the time. Where you seem to go wrong is that you are not making any real money from your site. We all know that Google Adwords or affiliate network links will return a very small bit of extra spending money and certainly not enough to change your life. Outlined in this article are some powerful tips on how to turn your website into a machine of product purchasing visitors. Also, you will discover how to choose products that your visitors will buy, and that pay you enough to be worthwhile.

In order make it easier to get a grip on my concepts, I’m going to use an example. Substitute your own blog’s topic into the example I describe. For the purposes of this example, let us pretend that you have a blog about beauty and health.

The first thing you need to do is make a list of all the products you can think of, which the visitors of your blog are already qualified to buy, simply since they reading about beauty and health. You should end up with a large list of products from acne treatment to weight loss. I assure you that this list has too many choices and way too many items that will not earn you money. You must concentrate the list down to one or two items. But just how do you know which ones to choose? Well, start by scouring the net for affiliate programs for each type of product on your list. All you want to look for at first is the commission amount you will earn per sale. Don’t waste time and effort on anything paying you less than $30 a sale. Trust me, there is no point to referring a sale to a tube of lipstick that will earn you a whopping $1.50 on a sale. A quick point of reference to use is to look at the selling prices of the product categories. Logic dictates that if the retail cost of an item is less than $80, there is no way the retailer can pay you a worthwhile commission.

After this first focusing of the list, you should have a small, precise list of products that beauty and health readers would buy, which cost more than $80. For this example of a health and beauty blog, your final three products might be Wrinkle Creams, Weight loss Pills, and Tooth Whitening Systems.

These products qualified past your "initial list slashing" because they cost more than $80, and pay you at least $30. However, they will make it to your FINAL choice list because of another set of characteristics that a good product has. In addition to their cost and commission factors, they must also be High Demand, Play to Vanity, and present the consumer with a shopping task, where your recommendations will play an important role in their decision.

Let me clarify why you want to also have these characteristics. First, a high demand product is required in order for there to be enough traffic on the web who are looking to buy this type of product. The vanity characteristic is important because people’s vanity allows you to pull emotional strings with your ad copy. Also, it helps the demand for the product resist recession or tough economies. Lastly, the reason to have the characteristic of "competitive marketplace" is crucial because it makes the "choosing process" for the shopper a tough task. If there was only one brand of wrinkle cream, it would be easy for a shopper to buy one. However, since there are thousands of wrinkle creams on the market, a shopper really wants to listen to which product YOU recommend on your site. You are now an expert that they will rely upon.

Now we have finished our initial list of qualifications for your product. to sum it up, any product that might go on your site must be more than $80, of high demand, vanity-driven, and in a competitive marketplace.

In our example of a blog about health and beauty, based on the above requirements, the top pick might be Wrinkle Creams. They are high demand, cost a lot, and we all know that every product claims to be the best. Most importantly, there are many products out there who pay up to $50 a sale to affiliates. For our example, Wrinkle Creams would be the best choice to recommend on your blog.

Now that you’ve got your product figured out, and have joined a few affiliate programs for wrinkle creams, you need to get your site slightly optimized. You need to bulk up the content of your site which is directly related to these products. Perhaps make a few pages reviewing individual creams and rate them. You don’t have to completely re-do your site, but at the very least, you should have some "review" pages on your site that talk about the pros and cons of each cream you sell, and make a bold statement as to which cream you believe to be the best wrinkle cream.

When the search engines index the new "wrinkle cream" oriented pages, you will start to see some traffic for it. The conclusions you make should result in visitors clicking over to buy the best wrinkle creams, and generating you some profits. Hopefully these ideas are helpful and easy to implement. The increase in commissions will be substantial.
