Mobile Home Skirting
Mobile Homes is an interesting concept. Several reasons can be cited to prove the need of mobile home skirting. This is of three types - vinyl, rock and brick.
Homes are constructed in factories rather than on the site. Then, these are transported by tractor-trailers over public highways to the site. Such homes are called 'mobile homes'. Such homes are frequently found in rural areas and high-density developments. In the United States and the United Kingdom, they are called as 'communities'. These homes are built under protected conditions as per a federal code created by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These are classified as single-wides and double-wides. The former are maximum sixteen feet in width. The latter are minimum twenty feet in width.
The need of mobile home skirting
Skirting makes a home complete and enhances its value. Animals like the neighbor's cats or dogs are distanced from the home. It provides an insulation against the elements. The owner can install it without any assistance. The heating and cooling bill is reduced.
Types
The different types of mobile home skirting types are:
- Vinyl
- Rock
- Brick
Every artificial rock panel is manufactured from a single molding of ABS material. This is the same composite that is used for football helmets. This panel does not scratch, dent or rattle. Rock panel skirting resists inclement weather. The access door for rock skirting provides easy access to the foundation crawl space. There is no need to remove any panels. A strong dead bolt maintains the door in place. A sturdy hinge swings the door wide open. This is of 32 inches width and 36 inches height. It is available in colors like brown and gray. The Universal Vent Insert for Rock Skirting is another accessory. This is an HUD approved ventilation grill. The color is black to match mortar joints.
Brick skirting requires a brick panel, corners, top ledge, universal starter strip, brick corners and skirting studs. The brick panel is manufactured from high quality resins with many coats of paint to have the genuine brick and stone look. The seams are hidden. There are vent inserts and vinyl bottom rails. A positive panel interlock system is used for easy installation. The panels are UV resistant. The overall size is 44 5/8 inches in width and 18 ¾ inches in height. The different colors are buff blend, char brown, colonial white, red blend, used buff and used red. The various colors for the corners are col white, buff blend, red blend, used buff and used red. A top ledge is used along with brick skirting. It is optional. The dimensions are 36 inches in width, 3 5/8 inches height and 1 ¼ inches depth.
