Miss Hot Topic and Mr. Abercrombie Together?! Chapter 8

Preppy Ken VS. Midget Emo. Who will win ?
-So sorry for the wait. I just wrote this real quick so it might not be the BEST. SO SORRY GUYS-

I dropped all my heavy books with a thud on the couch. It was finally Friday and I didn't have to go over Ken's house for the retarded project.

"How was school?" I walked into the kitchen, grumpily. My mother was baking who-knows-what and my little brother was crawling on the floor, drooling. I picked him up and hugged him tightly.

"Horrible, as usual," I shrugged while my mom glanced at me with a concerned look on her face.

"Wait, what happened to your shirt?" She gestured toward the yellow glob.

"Oh, that's mustard...please don't ask." Those dumbasses (Ken's friends) sprayed mustard all over me today in lunch. It was humiliating, but I fought right back, leaving a glob of mustard all over their shirts, too.

She shook her head. "I don't want to know. Oh, and I was cleaning your room today and I found a half bedazzled basketball...?" She looked at me suspiciously.

I snickered. I was almost done bedazzling it but it still needed some work. "Oh, that? Don't worry about it, mom."

"Selena, you better not be getting into trouble again!"

"I'm not, mom!" I crossed my fingers behind my back.

"Hey, the spring dance is next week, you going?" She smiled up at me hopefully. She should have known better than that. I HATED DANCES!

"Uh, hell no!…and how did you know about the dance anyway?"

"Don’t curse in front of your brother, Selena! And I know about this dance because the school has one every year. They even had one when I was a senior there."

"Oh, well I’m not going. And you can’t make me go!!" I yelled, afraid that she would make me go.

"Oh Selena, you have to be more social! Please go! If you don’t go, I’m making you quit your job at Hot Topics!!" She warned me with a glare.

"Argh!!! MOM! PLEASE!! I DON’T EVEN HAVE A DRESS!" I begged her.

"We can go shopping for one! Come on, it will be fun."
-
The next day we spent the whole day shopping for a dress. It was absolutely horrible, especially since I ran into Ken.

My mother was at the food court, getting us something to eat. I was waiting outside just wondering around aimlessly. That’s when I saw Ken. He didn’t see me, though, and when he was walking past me I stuck my foot out to trip him. It worked wonderfully! He fell right on his face.

"OW! WHAT THE…?!" He looked up and his stare changed right into a vicious glare as soon as he saw me. "Oh, it’s you." He sneered, getting up from the floor while he brushed the dirt off of his shirt.

"Walk much, dumbass?" I cracked up.

He ignored the comment and flicked at the black dress I was holding. "What’s this?"

"It’s.a.dress." I replied slowly, acting like I was talking to a retard. Well, Ken was a retard.

"I know that, you midget emo! I meant, what are you doing with it?" He asked curiously.

"I’m wearing it to the spring dance." I put my chin up in the air and humphed.

-Austin’s POV-

"YOU’RE going to the dance?!" Just the thought of it made me laugh. I couldn’t imagine her in that formal black dress.

"WHAT? WHY CAN’T I GO TO THE DANCE?" She looked furious.

I laughed and shrugged. Then I had a brilliant idea. I knew she took my Michael Jordan ball and probably shredded it to pieces, so how about another revenge? She wants to fight, then fine! I will ask her to the dance and act like I like her, then at the dance I would humiliate her by admitting that it was just for revenge and that I still hated her guts. All I had to do was make her love me. Can't be that hard, right?

"Hm, I was wondering, do you want to go to the dance with me?" I tried to look dead serious. I smoldered my eyes at her and looked up from my lashes with a hopeful look.

I kind of felt bad for doing this to Selena...but I just shrugged it off.

-SELENA’S POV-

"Are you fucking kidding?" I couldn’t breathe. What the fuck was going on here?! When did KEN started to like ME?!

I looked up at Ken’s hot, navy blue eyes. Wow, it was totally breath taking. Maybe if I say yes, all of this shit will stop. Maybe we will actually get along…?

I sighed. "What’s the catch, Ken?" I asked curiously. "What? Was it a dare?"

"No. There’s no catch. I just want to go to the dance with you, that’s all." He shrugged.

I thought over this. It can’t be that bad, right? I mean, he was friggin’ hot, no doubt about it. So what if he was a total preppy? Does it really matter...? ARGH! THIS WAS SO FRUSTRATING. Well, I needed a date anyway. It couldn't be that bad going to the dance with him, right?

"Fine." I answered shortly, unsure of this. "Wait, what about Barbie?"

"I knew you would say yes. And forget about Angela. I dumped her. You were right, she's hella annoying." He smirked confidently. I rolled my eyes, blushing. Then suddenly, he leaned down to kiss me on my cheeks.

"See you Monday, midget emo." He whispered in my ears then and he walked away quickly.

The place where he kissed me burned. It felt like I was electrocuted or something, but it kind of felt nice. Oh, no! I groaned. I was falling for him…HARD. I tried to snap out of it when I saw my mother coming.

"So, did you figure who you might ask to the dance?" She asked, trying to be cool about it.

"I think I know…" I said quietly.

"Oh goodie! Who is it?" She looked very relieved.

I rolled my eyes and answered "Ken". She looked very confused but I just took my cup of coke and kept on walking.

I had a feeling this dance was going to be…interesting.

-Austin's POV-

As I was walking away I saw Angela in front of Abercrombie.

"Hey, babe!" She walked up to me and started to kiss me...well, more like making out with me.

I pushed her off of me and walked back a few steps. "Um, Angela, we're over. I'm sorry." I kept it short and ran away. I know, I'm such a chicken but I hated seeing chicks cry, even bitches like Angela. I liked her way back when I was a freshman but I realized I really didn't like her anymore. I was glad I got it over with.

As I was driving away from the mall, to the direction of the beach, I thought back to the little peck with Selena. It was for a very brief moment but it was enough to drive me insane. I knew I was falling for her. I knew that me asking her out to the dance wasn't for "revenge", either. I shook my head to clear my thoughts and turned on the radio as loud as it would go.

I tried hard to resist this lovey-dovey feelings for her but it was hard. If my friends asked me if I liked her, I knew I would say no. They would probably believe me, too. It was a good thing they were so oblivious.
