Miss Hot Topic and Mr. Abercrombie Together?! Chapter 10

Less humor than the other chapters-sorry! More lovey dovey stuff[: *Midget Emo VS. Ken
-I am SO sorry for the wait, guys. I had finals and crap. I REALLY HOPE YOU LIKE THIS ONE! I'll try to post the next chapters soon. This chapter is sort of long and it's more "romantic" I guess. The next chapter will be much better, I swear! PLEASE DON'T BE TOO HARSH AND COMMENT! REMEMBER, MORE COMMENTS MEANS THE CHAPTERS WILL BE UP SOONER! OH AND PLEASE READ THE "NOTE" I POSTED!-

The past week, everything had changed. Miss Barbie-a.k.a. Angela-was OUT and the midget emo was finally IN. But something didn’t feel right. I felt like I was changing into another one of them Barbie clones. Even though I sort of knew it was true, I didn’t try to stop it. I WANTED to change, if it meant all this popularity. And most of all, the love from Austin. Gosh, I really did change.

I WAS BECOMING AN ABERCROMBIE-LOVING- BITCH, WASN’T I?!

On the good side, Austin turned out to be the world’s most perfect boyfriend (YES, HE IS MY BOYFRIEND NOW! EEP!). Now all the awkwardness was gone between him and me, and life just couldn’t get better. I mean he had a horrible taste in clothes-Abercrombie & Fitch, yuck (thank god I still had an awesome taste in clothes-HOT TOPIC)-but inside, he was funny, sensitive, sweet, and crazy, which suited me fine.

--

"COMING!" I yelled. I dashed my way to the front door, tripping over my own feet. I threw open the door, smiling like an idiot I was.

And there he stood, my little gift from the gods. He was my Edward Cullen, and I was his Bella Swan. No Jacob Black or evil stalking vampires in this story. Thank god!

Austin embraced me into a warm hug. I sighed, totally content. Then he looked me up and down and suddenly smiled.

"What?!" I asked, frowning. OMG did I forget to put my clothes on? I looked down at myself.

Pants-check.
Shirt-check.

Everything looked fine, then why was he smiling like that?

"Nice socks." He grinned at me, teasingly.

I looked down. My bright pink Powerpuff girls’ socks were very visible…I guess I forgot to put my converse on…

I blushed a bright purple-ish color and looked down, not meeting his eyes.

"Oops, I guess I should go get my shoes…" I muttered stupidly, and ran back in, to grab my beloved converse.

When I came back, I was still red with embarrassment.

"You must be a huge fan of powerpuff girls," He nudged my ribs with his elbows gently and smiled.

"NO! I JUST COULDN’T FIND ANY OTHER SOCKS! JEEZ!" I yelled, even though I knew he was just joking. I couldn’t help it…

"You know, you’re really defensive. I was only kidding." He replied calmly, but I could see he was trying to hide a smile.

I sighed. "Yeah, I know I’m defensive…but you’re…you’re…OFFENSIVE!" I couldn’t think of anything better. Argh.

He smiled at me appreciatively. I blushed at that, turning into different shades of pink and red yet again. Then he took my hand and dragged me to his shiny (and EXPENSIVE) car. He opened the door for me, just like a gentleman, and I quickly got in.

*

When I walked into the dreaded school, I could almost see the buzz of excitement. Bright purple posters informing the students of the upcoming dance was scattered everywhere. Girls gushed over the dresses while the guys talked nervously about who was taking who to the dance. I was so glad I didn’t have to worry about the dress or my date.

Austin and I were welcomed instantly by many of OUR friends. They were either preppy jocks or just preppy bitches, but I began to like some of them. I was beginning to learn more about people.

When the bell rang, Austin and I rushed to our homeroom, finally alone from the crowd.

"So…" Austin began to fidget with his beat up backpack. His face changed into extreme nervousness.

I turned around to face him. This was weird…he was never nervous around ANYONE.

"Yeah?" I tilted my head to my left, curious.

"Whendoyouwantmetopickyouuptonight?" He jumbled all the words together into one gigantic word.

"What…? Come on. PRO-NUN-CIATE!" I was beginning to be impatient.

He sighed and fidgeted again.

"When.do.you.want.me.to.pick.you.up.tonight?" He said the words slowly.

"Oh, I didn’t know we had plans…" I answered, taken back by the surprise.

"Don’t you know what today is?" He asked, looking offended.

"Uhm…your birthday?" I tried to guess but I knew I was way off. Aw, crap. What was today? My brain just totally shut down on me. I suddenly felt anxious and worried.

"It’s our montheversary, remember?" He muttered, looking down at his Michael Jordan basketball shoes.

"OH SHIT! THAT’S TODAY!" I gasped. I felt horrible and extremely guilty. But I couldn’t believe it! Already a month since me and Austin started going out! WOWIE.

He suddenly looked up and cracked half a smile. "It’s okay. I guess I’m the only corny one here."

"Dammit, I am so sorry! I should have gotten you something…" I gently banged my head on my binder. "I’m so stupid…Aren’t I?"

Suddenly, he was the one comforting me. He gently stroked my hair and leaned down to my height. "You’re not stupid. I’m just corny," He laughed and kissed me on my cheek.

I blushed a little. "Well, we can still do something together…" I looked up at him through my lashes, hopefully.

He tousled my hair, like I was a little kid, and nodded. "Sure thing, my little emo." He smiled while I frowned at the nickname.

School was school. Like any other day, teachers yelled at me and the hours of class seemed like years. When the final bell rang, me and Austin were one of the first people to get out of the school grounds.

"So where do you want to go, Ken?" I meant to say Austin but "Ken" slipped out. I was still used to saying the nickname instead of Austin.

He pursed his lips, glancing at me. "I really wish you wouldn’t call me that."

"I’m sorry! But I think it’s kind of cute now," I laughed.

He just grinned, shook his head, and murmured "fine".

"Anyway, I was thinking we can hit the beach tonight. They’re doing fireworks. It’ll be fun. Just me and you," When he stopped at the red light, he looked at me hopefully.

The last part about "me and you" made my heart stutter and beat twice as fast. When I didn’t answer right away, he misunderstood the silence.

"It’s okay if you want to do something else," He looked disappointed.

"No, no! Let’s go to the beach. Sounds like fun," I grinned at him widely, showing all my teeth.

"Awesome," He punched his fist in the air, smiling like a doofus.

-

Later that night, Ken-Oops, I mean AUSTIN-came to pick me up. We drove silently, enjoying the sunset.
When we arrived at the peaceful beach, he grabbed my hand and we walked down to a private corner.

We laid there on the soft sand, talking about the first day we met. We laughed and giggled remembering the strange relationship we had before. We used to be arch enemies and now we were closer than ever.

Around ten, the fireworks started and everyone gathered around the middle. It was loud but it was gorgeous. Everywhere you looked, there would be bright neon lights flashing in the dark sky.

While the fireworks kept on going, Austin dragged me to the private corner again. He didn’t speak when I asked what he was doing. He just smiled, looking dead drop gorgeous. Because of the pale moon and the flashing lights of the firework I could see his perfectly muscular body. He wasn’t wearing a shirt since it was very hot, and his hot six pack made me blush all over again.

While I ogled at his perfectness, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a tiny velvet box. I eyed it curiously. HE BETTER NOT HAVE GOTTEN ME SOMETHING! I WOULD FEEL SO GUILTY THEN.

He ordered me to close my eyes, while he opened it slowly. Then I felt his warm hands around my neck and I heard a "click". When I opened my eyes again, I looked down to see a delicate silver heart surrounded by little diamonds around my neck. I gaped at it.
Then I whirled around to face Austin.

"AUSTIN SMITH, WHY DID YOU GET ME THIS?!" I yelled at him while his shoulders sank down with disappointment.

"You don’t like it…?" He whispered.

"Well, no. I freakin’ love it but it looks so expensive! And I feel SO guilty ‘cause I didn’t get YOU anything. I didn’t even remember that today was our anniversary!"

When I finished, his face instantly brightened. "Don’t feel guilty! As long as you like the gift, then I’m happy." And he did look happy. I sighed in defeat.

"Fine…" I shook my head, still not believing what he got me.

"Hold on. Look at the necklace closely." He motioned me to go on.

I held the necklace up towards the light and peered at it. I looked and looked and finally I saw it. On the necklace

Selena & Austin
I love you

was incrusted on there. I just gaped at it. OMG HE JUST SAID I LOVE YOU TO ME (well, technically). I felt the lump in my throat beginning to appear. I cleared my throat while he watched my every move. Out of nowhere, I launched myself at him, hugging him tight. At first, he was surprised but he hugged me back quietly laughing.

I finally looked up to meet his eyes. "Thank you so much, Austin, for the necklace...and loving me, even if I wear Powerpuff girls' socks." I gave him a shy smile and I hopped on my tippy toes to kiss his lips, passionately.

He laughed once more, but kissed me back just as enthusiastically.
"My pleasure,"

I knew he was waiting, but I wasn’t sure. Did I really love him?

Yes, I did.

I loved a preppy jock. Who would have known?

I stopped kissing him and just leaned my head against his chest. He held me tight against him. I looked into his eyes and murmured, "I love you, too, Austin."

What could possibly go wrong now?

*I REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPED YOU GUYS LIKED IT. I KNOW IT WASN'T THE BEST CHAPTER BUT I WANTED TO GET IT OUT THERE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE SINCE I MADE YOU GUYS WAIT SO LONG. ANYWAY, THERE WILL BE MORE "EXPLANATION" ABOUT THE WHOLE REVENGE THING IN THE NEXT CHAPTER SO DON'T BE TOO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS ONE:(*
