Mirror for the Sun
This poem is ending with a line of one of my favorite lyrics: Road Trippin by Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
I watch your two raised arms
Turn into strings that reach those two yet unseen stars
And set their anchors into them.
Your feet melt down onto the ground
Their liquid goes into the earth
And roots grow down there, inside.
Your ears turn into microphones
Catching the sound even of caterpillars
Walking on the green leaves of the trees.
Your smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun.
Turn into strings that reach those two yet unseen stars
And set their anchors into them.
Your feet melt down onto the ground
Their liquid goes into the earth
And roots grow down there, inside.
Your ears turn into microphones
Catching the sound even of caterpillars
Walking on the green leaves of the trees.
Your smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun.
