Minnesota
Minnesota is located centrally on the North American continent, and contains the northernmost point in the continental US. Much of the boundary of Minnesota is defined by natural waterways, including Lake of the Woods, Rainy River, the Saint Croix and Mississippi rivers, Pigeon River, the Red River of the North, Big Stone and Traverse lakes, Lake Superior, and numerous other lakes that stretch in an almost unbroken chain. It has been said that Minnesota's way of life seems permanently positioned on the American dream. This dream drew many immigrants to the state with the promise of a life of dignity in return for honest labor.
