McCready, 32, was arrested Monday for the probation violation and was released on $5,000 bond. She was sentenced to 60 days in jail and she turned herself into the jail in Franklin, Tennessee to begin serving her sentence. McCready’s attorney, Lee Ofman, has declined to comment on his client’s latest troubles. McCready has had a touch number of years and has been in and out of trouble with the law.

She was arrested in 2004 for falsifying a prescription to purchase the drug OxyContin. She was placed on three years probation, ordered to pay a $4,000 fine and ordered to complete community service. She was found in violation of her probation in 2007 when she was arrested at her mother’s home for causing a "disturbance." She was later charged with battery and resisting arrest after the fight with her mother.

In May 2006, McCready’s ex-boyfriend William Knight broke into her home and beat her up and choked her unconscious. Two months later McCready reportedly attempted suicide. She has lost custody of her son Zander Ryan McKnight and is trying to put her life back in order. She said, "I am working very hard to put all of this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to what I like to do most: sing, write songs and entertain." McCready is best known for her hit 1996 song "Guys Do It All the Time." She has not had a hit since 2002, but has remained in the headlines.
